New Gruff Rhys album is great. Was previewed on bandcamp a couple of nights ago.
For anyone who likes Arab Strap, "Philophobia Undressed" released last Friday is excellent. Live version of probably my favourite Arab Strap album. Only available to stream or buy through bandcamp.

Jens Lekman for me, Clive.

Looking forward to Baxter Dury and Jens Lekman (his new book is good too which the album is about - him being a wedding singer).

There is also a Bowie boxset covering the 90s until his death and a covers EP by Iron & Wine/Band of Horses which sounds intriguing.

Parcels! I’ve been waiting for this album. I only heard them this year and have been subsequently listening/watching all of their live sessions and some of their albums. They’re excellent

Really hoping The Maccabees make some new stuff on the back of this 'comeback' tour they've had. There's not many albums that I'd willingly sit down and listen to in its entirety but Given To The Wild is definitely one. Proper masterpiece man.

Nurse with Wound - HEALSGEBEDDA BUDGERIGAR
Not sure how new this is but it has just had a wider release on streaming platforms after being only available to subscribers. If you fancy some strange music dive in. I loved it.

I really liked the Jens Lekman one on first listen. It's a bit long (80 mins) but flew by. It's a sort of concept album to do with the story in the book he had out recently which is about him writing and singing songs at peoples weddings.

I didn't like Baxter Dury and gave up half way through. I think his 'shtick' has just worn a bit thin and it seems to be the same on every album. Disappointed because he worked with Paul Epworth on it.

That Iron & Wine/Band of Horses covers EP wasn't much cop either.

Biffy Clyro out this Friday too. Was supposed to be next week but got brought forward a week.

I’ll be giving Wednesday, Motion City Soundtrack, Black Lips and Cardiacs a go.

Yeah, looking forward to Wednesday and Cardiacs particularly. The latter is the album they were making when Tim Smith sadly became ill and eventually died.
