Essex v Durham County Championship 8-11 Sept

We need a clear out at the club a disaster of a season and we reward the coach with a 2 year contract.

North needs to go for a start picking players who averaging 21. Brainless cricket and soft dismissals it’s been getting worse all season.

Durham need to think about a complete re-branding cos there is absolutely nothing you could associate them with a Lion / Pride of Lions. Pussycats more like

Haven’t won since May and if I’m being totally honest that’s the last time I saw any fight from this team.
Agree sadly, any time we get put under pressure we just go into our shell and roll over. The middle order today just completely threw their wickets away, Essex won't believe their luck.

This team won promotion by being aggressive, the comparisons were made regarding England and yet today, at 189-1, you’d have thought that we were in the best situation you’ll find to be positive and instead a long line of batsmen have come in and been so negative that they’ve gone nowhere and got themselves out.

Hindsight is great of course, but if Ackermann onwards had come in swinging and we’d been all out by now - we’d have had 400 on the board. Half of me thinks it might be worth declaring to get a go at them tonight.

I mean, McKinney made 120 🤷‍♂️

Clark has scratched about for an hour or so for 15.

We’re going down aren’t we?
Yeah I said "1 or 2" contributing then it's left to Clark which is exactly what has happened here again. Lees scores well then someone else chips in (McKinney today) then we find ourselves relying on Clark (again today) to push us on as the top order just aren't consistent enough. Clark is our 3rd top scorer going into this round of games.

No but he’s in charge of player recruitment and that’s been dire I a struggling to remember a worse bowling attack and Bailey was the other option here. Onions has not improved a single bowler either.
So presumably Campbell picked a side batters heavy / bowlers light hoping that we would score enough runs to get max batting points and secure a draw ( at least )

Calm down their bowling is not like the 1970s Windies. Let's see where we are this time tomorrow our seamers may, just may get us back into it.

They won’t. It’s as flat as a pancake, done absolutely nothing all day. We’ve been rolled for 300 on a flatty and now they’ll bat for five sessions atleast.
