SOL expansion

I'm sure from the proposal images that it is only a single tier extension they are planning on building. The alignment of the seats is directly behind the back of the current south stand seats. There is no step to create a second tier. You can also see through the glass that the stairs from the ground level concourse go directly into the seats. It will be nothing like the North Stand extension.

This means that it will be cheaper to construct, but additional concourse level improvements will be minimal, and not really much chance for more corporate facilities (boxes etc...) The SW corner in the extended area could be a good opportunity for another Founders / Quinn's type bar area.

To be fair, the corporate would not be use for concerts (if they are still looking into them) a its behind the stage area. And the demand at the moment would definitely be for more South stand Season Tickets rather than more corporate (that has not fully sold out this season).

there is a objection detailed document showing the second tier as per north stand

The plans definitely show a second tier, you can see the overhang:

If we do go ahead with an expansion, a big single tier like Dortmunds yellow wall or Spurs big single tier would be class and create a great atmosphere. If this has been mentioned as I ain't got time to read the whole post, so I do apologise

This is a good point, I think their hand is being forced by the council. They obviously want more corporate seats as well so they might just go for it and do the east and south at the same time. I would say they had planned to do the east first.

Anyone know how long it would take and how many fans seats might be displaced if work overlapped into the season? I tried to find how long it took to extend the North Stand back in the day, but couldn't find it

My memory is bad from that time, was along time ago, but didn't feel like it was long
It took about 7 months. Work started in the January and it was ready for the start of the next season.

Of course, that was 25 years ago and I think there are more issues now with securing building supplies and workers post-Brexit.

Wonder how much it would cost these days compared to back then
