Patrick Roberts to Birmingham compendium

Would have been interested in seeing his link up play with more dynamic players in Diarra, Le Fee and Sadiki, but ultimately his end product has been lacking for a long while. I can think of around 15-20 shots last couple of years that have gone just past the far post - Tin hat on but if he had the finishing we'd honestly be talking about a £20m - £30m player on his day.

I'd be surprised if its a loan move like, I think he was sick of moving about before he joined us so will likely want something permanent if hes leaving

He was a good lad, and I’m really glad he found somewhere he could call home for a while.

Ultimately, his output wasn’t enough in the championship and certainly wouldn’t be in the PL and we need better, but wish him the best.

Strange one this. We have a long list of players who we need to get rid of and he isn't on the list for me.
Not for me. Like everyone else I like the lad but he's done precious little for at least a year (yes, I know, other than the pass to Mayenda at Wembley). He's the classic player that you hope will do something magic and then you are disappointed when he does nowt. I think he's had his timehere and its the right time to move him on.

He averages 1 goal OR assist in every 9 games!

And you're talking about a player who has played consistently in arguably sunderlands worst few years in the football league.

Most seasons hes played for us we have been pushing for promotion with him as part of a front 3.

9 goals in 4 seasons is shocking.

Id love to see his stats for possession lost, hes shocking!
i ain't reading all that. im happy for you tho, or sorry that happened

I think Birmingham would be an excellent fit for Roberts at his point in his career. Let’s just be honest in that as much as he did his part in getting us to the premier league the facts remain the gula is just too big a jump for some and I believe Roberts falls into that category. Top end championship player absolutely but in my humble opinion nowhere near premier league class. Ipswich showed last season how it goes when you sign top end championship players to navigate the top league in world football. It’s sad to see and a real shame, but how would people feel if we kept that squad together from last season and got absolutely smashed every week.

Same from me. I think a move is best for all concerned. Produced some fantastic moments for us if it is the case that he’s going.

Who is queuing up for his signature like?

F****n Derby? 😂👌
What's that got to do with 'one of the worst wingers in our history'.

He's going on loan to a side competing for promotion.

He's clearly got a lot of talent but little end product, which is what the vast majority are saying.

To say he's not good enough for us is fair enough, to say he's one of the worst wingers in our history is just completely wrong.

Unless you only started watching us at the beginning of last season?

One of the worst wingers in our history!

Without Amad next to him finishing off his moves for him hes shocking

Loses possession more than any player ive ever seen

Short of quality for the PL, but that opinion is disgusting.

Struck late on away to Sheff Wed in L1 play off semi. Also played a brilliant pass to Mayenda in last years' final to kick start the victory.

As fans we owe Roberts a lot of thanks for being there through the sh*t times and contributing a lot.

If he moves on he will be remembered by those with a brain for the contribution he made to our club.

Good luck to him. Nowhwere near as bad as some make out, frustrating yes but at the end of the day a key part of our team in the Club's progress to the PL.

I'm inclined to agree..... other than him scoring the winner in the play-off semi-final in league 1 and then providing a fantastic assist in play-off final to get us where we are now.

Have a bit of respect man, you plum.

Ive watched him the whole time, and ive always said hes dink.

His shooting is pathetic 99% of the time, hes not very quick, he can hardly beat a man.

His stats speak for themself mate.
