Lois Openda (transfer rumour)

Fed up of this. Just totally lacks any understanding of the game.

Are strikers lampposts? Statues? Do they just stand there waiting for a chance to arrive in their lap?

Their movement and anticipation is almost the most important attribute when it comes to chance creation. Mayenda has completed 2 passes in two games. That’s not a made up stat. I love the lad, he has terrific potential, but that is an explanation of our low XG - he isn’t fulfilling the football side of being up front. Finishing isn’t enough.

Honestly, I don’t mean to be rude, but when I read stuff like this, it makes me wonder whether people have ever kicked a ball.
Been saying this since last season, top strikers show for the ball and make things happen, I just don’t think our strikers do this at all, 4 goals in the last ten games of last season was awful, think goal scoring is gonna be our downfall

40m for this lad, nigh on 30m for Lucumi and an alleged 20m plus for Yilmaz
Insane money that we don’t have and those saying forget PSR are inviting the chance of the likes of Donald and Methven wannabes coming back.
No guarantee such signings will ensure we stay up
Don’t get me wrong I’d love to see the best players possible wearing our shirt, but only if financially it makes sense

We should be after this lad for a similar kind of deal as the Le Fee one.

Loan with an obligation to buy if we stay up. Even if its 40m+ it’d be worth it.

Him accepting is another matter mind.
Juventus have Jonathan David, Vlahovic and some Turkish lad. Not sure they need him

I read somewhere that Juve want shot of Vlahovic and would be willing to let him go for under 20m. Not sure of he'd come here, but I'd take that gamble. He'd fit the role of a big strong outlet upfront perfectly.

Hadn’t it been proven ( or as much as it can be) that we are well inside psr

My understanding is we MAY have another 60m at most
The numbers bandied around are to a large extent hearsay I suppose.
Agent fees, sign on fees, wages all to go on top.
Like I intimated, if we can safely afford it all well and good
I just annoyed when people suggest spend spend spend and don’t worry “it will all be ok”

Got to speculate to accumulate. Quality brings points.

PSR will not be an issue.

How do you know we have 60 million at most?

The problem is if you max out PSR now you leave yourself with very little to spend next season. These people who think we should be maxing it out this Summer will be the first to have a strop next season when we can’t push on further because we don’t have the leeway in PSR to spend further

I don't know but how do you know?
So I’m wrong and you don’t know but you’re right.
Smashing
Edit..just did a ChatGPT query and response was a further 70m expenditure would pose significant risks to PSR compliance.
But don’t tell me…how does ChatGPT know?

Don't be ridiculous. You're the one who made the claim ("we MAY have another 60m at most"). It's not the other poster's obligation to prove your claim false, it's for you to prove it true.

Clearly we do and we have purchased saleable assets not 27 year olds that nobody wants on huge money.

It’s nothing like the used car salesmen days.

He wants to leave Leipzig, expected to play his last game for them today. Not sure I believe the Juve stuff like, they are seemingly all in on Kolo Muani returning.

It was our wages that really gives us PSR room. Think it was 17m. West Ham’s is like 90m. Villa 100m.

Fingers crossed. I know nowt about him like.
