Lois Openda (transfer rumour)

The problem is if you max out PSR now you leave yourself with very little to spend next season. These people who think we should be maxing it out this Summer will be the first to have a strop next season when we can’t push on further because we don’t have the leeway in PSR to spend further

We’ll sell someone for big money maybe 2. If we stay up someone’s had a good season and they’ll be worth more than we paid

That’s where money from next year would come from

I think we need to worry about next season next year

Do whatever it takes now for this season

Exactly. Tbf the massive rebuild is in motion THIS summer. If we can stay up it wont need a massive injection next year. With a full season of PL football under their belts just watch these young lads fly next year.

You do what most clubs do and sell a player on for a big profit. Brighton have made a fortune off selling a couple of players to Chelsea over the past few seasons alone.

If we stay up and some of our lads have a good AFCON, they'll be big offers on the table next summer.

People have that mindset now but it’s pretty much guaranteed if we only signed one or two players next Summer there’d be people having tantrums because they aren’t getting as many new toys and declaring anyone who had a decent but not amazing season ‘shite’

They aren’t going to push themselves completely to the limit PSR wise. They need to leave themselves a bit of wiggle room

I do think see it that way. It's a young squad and the hope is the lads will improve with each season. I don't think any club wants a big overturn in players each season.

If we're in a position where we've stayed up, and only need to bring 1 or 2 players in to strengthen the team further, I'd say that would be a pretty much ideal scenario.

40m for this lad, nigh on 30m for Lucumi and an alleged 20m plus for Yilmaz
Insane money that we don’t have and those saying forget PSR are inviting the chance of the likes of Donald and Methven wannabes coming back.
No guarantee such signings will ensure we stay up
Don’t get me wrong I’d love to see the best players possible wearing our shirt, but only if financially it makes sense

The difference is the age profile. Look at Ipswich, selling Omari Hutchinson for £40m for an average season at best.

We aren’t loading up on big-wage, old players, with the exception of Xhaka. If these lads do well, a lot of them will be sold for good money. Even if we stay up, to be honest. We’re a business.

Oh I completely agree. I’m just thinking of the people who seem to think we still need to get 5 players in 😂

My understanding is we MAY have another 60m at most
The numbers bandied around are to a large extent hearsay I suppose.
Agent fees, sign on fees, wages all to go on top.
Like I intimated, if we can safely afford it all well and good
I just annoyed when people suggest spend spend spend and don’t worry “it will all be ok”
Yeah if there’s one thing this owner is known for, it’s spending money we can’t afford.
The same bloke who linked him to us last time, the club denied it within half an hour I think.
Did they? Where was that? Not saying it didn’t happen just I haven’t seen it is all.

Think the plan would be stay up, cash in on Patto or Neil etc...
The way many on here talk those 2 are last years toys and not good enough for premier.
I think they will come good as premier quality players, but right now their value is hard to discern. Are they worth more or less than Watson?
If we stay up surely we get prize money based on position in table that should provide money to strengthen

Just think Patto won't want 2 seasons on the bench, Neil needs to sign a new contract and if he kicks on becomes a huge asset both to the team and the financial side
