I went yesterday but had to leave during the innings break. During our innings Archie Bailey went for the equivalent of a batsman's net. This seemed to consist of a relatively short run up then trying to bowl as fast as possible. He was all over the place. Onions was 'supervising' and barely took any notice at all. Onions was offering no support or advice but was more concerned with fiddling with one of those dog ball thrower things they have. I'm no expert but I could see some technical issues Bailey has that need correcting. His delivery is just too furious and he was also falling away in his delivery stride, hence the spraying it about. What did Onions do? Nothing.

I'm not sure what they do on non-match days but if this is typical of the attitude, Onions needs to go. He is an example of those staff who are making a cosy living but don't seem accountable in terms of the performance of those who he is in charge of. I respect his own career but this doesn't give him a free pass to turn up and get a wage forever.

You can't tell really. I've seen Geoff Cook do exactly the same. If seen plenty others. The coaches let them bowl, and when they say something is down to them and tbh, they have the experience and you don't know what conversations they'll have afterwards.
Obviously, this team is losing and it's a mess. I can't remember when the bowling attack was as toothless as it is now and management seem to be resorting to bringing in players rather than using the youngsters we've got. Obviously those youngsters are not either injured or not good enough or not good enough yet.
It's all a bit worrying.
 
It’s crazy Onions was a class bowler but not one bowler has improved in fact our star bowler Potts has been awful by his previous outstanding form only 23 first class wickets at 38 this season.

Raine is our leading 4 day wicket taker with only 35. Usually you can bank on the 2 of them for 50 plus.

It’s a massive concern we rarely look like taking 20 wickets and the spinners are terrible Parkinson is decent at T20. But we keep picking Drissell because he can bat a little shame he can’t bowl!

Like everyone Graham Onions must look at the job he is doing and cant be happy with the results. I doubt we could defend 400 in that cup, our bowling, apart from the ever reliable Ben Raine and some good spells from a player we are losing was rank. Our batting as from rhe stats shown was decent and Rhodes should finally get some credit for his one day season. However we are a train crash with the ball, going for over 300 five times in a row and seemingly incapable of defending anything ... and this has to naturally raise a degree of focus onto the bowling coach.
 
We definitely seem to have some injury curse. Even Wagner. I don't know if he ever came over to play but as soon as he signed for us he seemed to get injured.
 
Not sure what the long term future of this competition is but if it has a few more years in this format then Durham are going to have to take serious consideration to playing a game or two at club grounds within the county.
The visit to South North C.C. definitely works and yesterday's match would definitely have been ideal for a club grounds.
If they are serious about trying to get a franchise team then they are going to have to utilise out grounds so may as well prepare.

Well that was a very low key day at the Riverside all round. It actually felt at times like it was the last couple of days of the season in late September.
Lees again holding our batting together and Barnard again showing what a very good county cricketer he is.
That was my first visit this season to the Riverside for a one day cup match as I said very flat.

Tbf there was nothing in the game for Durham given that progression in the competition was over.....i would guess that Warwicks sensed that the game was there for the taking and batted really sensibly and closed it out in a professional manner. It must be demoralising being a Durham supporter who attends games atm as we cant seem to match our opponents in terms of application or desire

There are and the fans are asking this question.

I can only guess that if Hampshire play somewhere in their own county, it will be a distraction to the 16.4 match.

And the ECB won't have that.

, who earned a home playoff by finishing second in Group A, have been forced to give up home advantage because of a clash with Southern Brave's matchday at Utilita Bowl.

As such, Middlesex, who finished third in Group B, will host Nick Gubbins' side at Radlett on Thursday. Lord's, like Southampton, is unavailable due to The Hundred, with the men's and women's finals taking place on Sunday.

For , though, this comes with its own issues. They looked dead and buried on Tuesday afternoon, knowing that a Warwickshire victory over Sussex would almost certainly knock them out of knockout contention. When they were 127 for 6 in reply to Lancashire's 291 for 8, the prospect of having to deck out Radlett at 24 hours' notice looked a long way off.

But Nathan Fernandes' 92 and Seb Morgan's 61 dragged Middlesex to the brink of an improbable victory, clinched in chaotic scenes when two Lancashire fielders left a catch for each other, allowing the tenth pair – Noah Cornwell and Nathan Gilchrist – to scamper back for the two runs that gave Middlesex the tie they needed, before Cornwell skewed the winning run over mid-on.

Since then, Middlesex have known that Radlett – where they played three of four home group games – would host Thursday's playoff. It is expected to be a somewhat scaled-back version of the usual offering at the outground, having only had Wednesday, amid inclement weather, to rig the entire venue. Hampshire only even became likely home quarter-finalists by chasing down 313 to beat Gloucestershire. Had they lost, Middlesex would be travelling to New Road to face Worcestershire, with Radlett untouched.

Radlett will also host the reserve day, on Friday, should it be needed, amid an iffy Thursday weather forecast.

The Cricketer understands that Middlesex will have both Ryan Higgins and Zafar Gohar at their disposal; both have Hundred deals but have played in the One Day Cup this season. Higgins' Hundred campaign is over, with London Spirit having failed to reach the eliminator. Zafar, meanwhile, is yet to feature for Oval Invincibles, who have advanced straight to the final. For that reason, he would be unavailable for Middlesex on Sunday, should they reach the semi-final.

The Cricketer also understands that Radlett will stage Middlesex Women's semi-final in the One Day Cup, should the county finish top League Two after the final round of matches on Sunday. Both semi-finals were initially slated for Saturday, September 6, but Middlesex would play theirs on Sunday, September 7, owing to Radlett being in use as a club ground on the Saturday.
