One bad result

Was shit like, they're the league's worst, and we tried to control it and failed.

They may end up as the leagues worst but at the moment it's not got to that stage- what I've seen of West Ham they are for worse currently and Potter will be potted soon enough with his record - won 5, drawn 5, lost 10 or something.

I tipped Burnely to do worse than us and Leeds and I think they will, but having not taken our chances first half they showed a bit more going forward late first half and then managed to capitalise. We need to improve but it's 2 games in with a brand new team and we lost an important player first half.

A point a game is realistically what we need - despite spending 150m we've not signed superstars, we're trying to build a PL squad.

What happened last season is completely irrelevant to this tbh. We’ve also missed 2 penalties and sitter from anout 3 yards to ruin that stat.
We didn't miss two penalties. The keeper saved them.
They broke a few defensive records last season & Manchester City were watching it.
Burnley were a nightmare to try and score against last season and it absolutely isn't irrelevant.

That's all well and good pear, I'm not saying everything is gloom, far from it, however, today was shit.

Well it is because 3 of their back 5 aren’t there any more and they are playing against completely different level players. Therefore, completely irrelevant. Let’s just see how many they concede this year, in relation then eh?
Ah right, so penalties that are saved don’t go down as misses?

Every PL survival season I've seen us have, we've lost to shite teams we would have expected to beat (even in the top 7 seasons under Reid, I remember us losing at home to Bradford). Too early to be reading too much into it.

‘Disgrace’ ‘Pathetic’ etc etc. What happened to backing the lads through a tough season? That out the window already?
Those 3 play off games in May gave me my best times ever following the club and that includes being at Wembley in 1973.
Those memories are there forever.
This transfer window has been incredible.
I won't get distraught and apoplectic at a bad result this season. Disappointed - of course.
The club are giving it a real go.

Imagine being Man City today. Looking unstoppable then looking comical.
It’s two games in and people are shitting the bed.
We will have worse days than today but no doubt a lot better too.
It’s going to be a long season and today hopefully brought a few fans expectations back down to earth !
This place is bipolar marra.

We all know that.

Won one, lost one.

Not the worst start.

Brentford get a kicking next week.

Happy days. 😁

I was hoping we'd have too much for them, surprised the result didn't end up being closer than it was. Losing Ballard so early didn't help, but we should have at least drawn that game.

It was shit. But we should have been more clinical first half and it's a different game. Instead we lost Ballard, Seelt nearly gave a goal away and Burnely who had shown little intent got an opportunity again just before the break.

We then started the second half seemingly asleep and never really recovered.

We need to somehow address central defence (how many are injured) and improve our final ball and support in the final third instead of being reliant on counter attacks opening spaces all the time.

It's probably more frustrating because of expectations/ last week / because it's Burnley, however we just need to move on and make sure we improve.

Yep, worse days are to come, I'm sure. But it was frustrating on a day begging to build on confidence, instead, too many looked like homer's and poor decisions were made all round.

All three promoted sides up to three points after just two games. Signs this season is going to be tight at the bottom...?
