North Stand extension

Is that floor space you mention not the away end bar? Obviously a long time ago now, but when we had visitors over donkeys ago we gave them our season ticket seats and we got a couple of tickets in the North Stand Upper for a couple of matches. Arsenal when Schwarz scored and Leicester when Reyna did spring to mind. I’m sure I remember the actual bar area being on a different level to where there was essentially just some extra room to stand around. Could be completely wrong here mind and it could have even changed.
It might be, I never went in North Upper before it became the away end. I’ve seen photos where the away concourse didn’t look like it had windows so just presumed it was above the BCB.

I'm pretty sure the concourse up there has windows, I think that's the away concourse these days.

I’ve been sad enough to find the plans! Looks like the away end stair towers have access to concourses on levels 1 & 3.

Not sure if these links will work…

The links aren't working for me. I think if it's the same plans I found before then I think it changed because there's no extended ground floor concourse.

Love the ambition of some fans and the thought of the South Stand being extended.

But as soon as things arnt going rosey we’d have more empty seats than we’ve had previously, that’s always my worry.

The next 1st world problem if the sol is extended with brickwork is that the mortar pointing colour is inconsistent.

After reading the complaints on this thread about fewer rows, misaligned gutters, wrong number of pigeons etc. it makes you realise that they’re inconsequential.

Compare that photo to anfield 😆

They have all sorts of oddities to join the stands together.
Brilliant post. Anfield and Old Trafford both look like an architects just made all the stands fit. Looks crap

What if things just keep going rosy? No let up. Everything keeps going class?

When the NWC extension was first built it was just an open steel frame with no upper floors. They filled it in with floor slabs and brickwork later. I remember an article about the new space being classrooms for the FoL.

Also, I don’t know if due to time or cost but the windows that face the swimming pool weren’t glass originally they were just cheap polycarbonate sheets the same profile as the metal cladding. The proper windows were added when the BCB fit out was done later.

Does anyone know what the first floor is in the north stand extension. I’m pretty sure 2nd floor is BCB and the away concourse is above that. So the first floor doesn’t seem to be in use but with space at a premium now you’d think it’d be some sort of hospitality.
First Floor of North and North West Upper is Away and Home Concourses with food/drinks kiosks and toilets. Was the easiest place to get a pre match and half time pint as everyone used to miss the 1st floor and go straight up to the 3rd floor.

Both old grounds, and has to make do.
There's no reason for ours to have to look disjointed, and half arsed - which are the complaints.

I quite like the look of Anfield to be fair

So do I to be fair mate. That new extension to the stands behind the dugouts and roof actually looks canny.

I was in the NW corner on Saturday and the class rooms are still there, surly they could be incorporated into some kind of bar offering if not still used

Then you’d be very foolish mate, there’s no such thing in football.

As soon as we stagnated in the Prem we’d be down to 40k gates again - which is still class before anyone thinks I’m having a pop.

It would be interesting to have the capacity to see how many we could have pulled in on Saturday. The club will know but I’m thinking 55,000 plus

Us being us the fear of it all falling apart will never go away, you see it n feel it all the time it's understandable but I've no idea what breaks it, we will always be waiting for "typical sunlun" to return
