Does anyone think we stay up?

I was at the play off final wow one of the best days ever. My first game watching the lads was Gillingham away in the okay off when we lost 3-2. My dad announced we were going with my Mum and we literally paid on the door wow!

The betting markets gave us about 12 points off safety coming 19th.

What’s the vibe everyone?

Personally I think without someone who can score goals we will go down. But there’s hope for us all and the next few games will tell us whether we have any chance of staying up !

YES.

Yes, we've spent a bucketful of money &, no I'm not especially au fait on European leagues but, with exception of Xhaka I doubt anyone had heard of the vast majority of our signings. Reminds me of the Di Fanti debacle.

My first promotion was 1976 & Stokoe's Superstars. That went badly & barring, Reidy's second promotion, every one since has either been followed with immediate relegation or two/three season of abject struggle before the inevitable relegation. So excuse my pessimism &, I sincerely hope I'm wrong but, experience across the years leads me to think we'll not be staying up.

Yes I genuinely do.
I think we’ll finish no lower than 15th personally
Same. The first few games will be a good indicator but I think there are far more positives than people are giving us credit for and a solid mid-table finish is hardly out of the question. I wouldn't be astonished if we batter West Ham tomorrow.

I also think too many people - including a lot who ought to know better - are focused on the last six promoted teams getting relegated when it's a barely relevant statistic.

get points in the bag early season, hopefully a bit of luck this season with injury free players and stay up ;):)

We are still a couple of quality players short of staying up IMO. We are woefully short of a goal scorer. And we need another CB. We have a good chance of survival if we address those two positions in the next 2 weeks.

Struggling to believe you’re a Sunderland fan going off your posts today.

3rd time tonight you’ve posted “The betting markets gave us about 12 points off safety coming 19th.”
He’s defo a mag and a very sad one at that

Not sure, we look light in both boxes imo.

Does Dan and Omer stay injury free (doubt it) and can Elizer make another huge step up quickly?

Guess there is Guiu who is supposed to be very good.

Walking into Wembley I’d have said about a 20% chance of winning that game. Since then we have bought an entirely new team, adding to a few decent players that we expect to step up. I’m optimistic but not from a very knowledgeable position.

With respect, it’s absolutely nothing like the DiFanti era.

Deffo YES! Team seems to be built with people who want to fight for the cause . From the statement players bought. No surrender ! 90 mins of going for it each game. After watching lot's and lot's of Prem.teams ,it's teams playing as a unit that get the result. Onwards and upwards. No pessimists needed. 4uk off .Support the Mags .Horse punchers are feeling sorry for themselves .HTL and FTM. 👍

Yes, main reasoning is that I feel team like Brighton, Bournemouth, Fulham, Wolves, and Forest has not improved and in some cases regressed. Throw in Leeds and Burnley and overall the league is much weaker than last season.

The excellent transfer dealings we have done will make us competitive with the bottom 7 - hopefully - and that, this season, is the extent of my ambition for the club. We have our own mini league to play in and whilst days out at Liverpool will be looked forward to, it is just that - a day out. We wont get anything there a la Man City, Arsenal and co.

the skunks games are different as the derby is a great leveller.

Can we compete with the bottom 7 and end up say 5th bottom.....we are about to find out. the first few fixtures may well be a barometer of how we will do.

I dont see the point in giving up before the season starts.
