Callum Doyle

Then Ballard hasn’t got a chance

Ballard is quicker and stronger than Doyle by some margin in each category.
He hasn't got the pace required for the Championship let alone the Premier League. Shame, as technically he is good enough for the Premier League but he got ripped to shreds defensively when playing for Norwich pace-wise.

It's not just about pace, it's the fact he's absolutely useless defensively and cares more about having the ball at his feet playing out. It was evident from the moment he arrived here and people were talking about him as if he was Bobby Moore. He actually put more effort into running with the ball than he did trying to get back towards his own goal.

Know somebody who worked within club said he was more interested in lifting weights and looking good than improving his athleticism

Shame as technically he looked superb

The regular lad on here certainly didn't, granted it's a small subreddit but the general consensus from when they went up was he was too slow and had a decent pass on him and not much else

Wow I did honestly think they loved him.

That subreddit is busier than the SAFC one 😳

Another Dion Sanderson imo.

Once we got Evans/Batth at the back we began to look more solid.

Fans wanted to like him but in reality he wasn't that good and certainly nowhere near good enough for where we are now.

Norwich and Leicester fans were never too big on him like, Sheffield flinging money at more mid tier championship players
I'm a Norwich fan and he was actually our top assister last season (7 assists). Like everyone has said already though, great with the ball at his feet, terrible when it's not. Too much of a liability when defending unfortunately. Too expensive to buy in the Championship and not good enough to buy for the Premier League. He's a Robert Earnshaw of the defence world.

He's gonna have to get his skates on to get those 100 caps for England

I love Denis Cirkin and I know they were probably coached to do it, but I still have nightmares about Hoffmann, Doyle and Cirkin pass it about at the back against League One journeymen getting caught time and time again.

The Portsmouth game with the waterlogged pitch is one of the most stupid things I've ever seen when watching football, total naivety.

Sheff Wed away playing out from goal kicks with two Wednesday players sat on the edge of the box and nearly getting caught several times and before you know it you do get caught and you're 2 or 3 down and never once alternating going long.

Do you mean Wright/Batth at the back and Evans in front?
