Jhon Lucumi - Transfer Rumour

We still need a top striker who will be first choice. It’s usual to have 2 on the bench, and at any given time we will have injuries, so having 4 is definitely needed.
The problem with this simplistic desire is that a “top” striker means experienced, proven and quality which probably means 70 or 80 million
There is only so much you can spend and that’s the most expensive position - given the massive rebuild we won’t be doing that because we can’t
Guiu will be no1 and backed up by Mayenda and Wilson
The big money we are yet to spend will be spent at the back and maybe another wide player

Was mentioned the other day that Sadiki can play RB as well. Maybe he will with Reinildo at CB with Ballard and Hume LB
He has played there previously, but I think only excelled when he moved into CM

If we do think he’ll play there against WHam I guess he’ll start there over the weekend

we're not signing another out and out striker like. a 'proven' one of them from one of the top leagues is going to cost at least 50m. at best we'll get a wide player who could play upfront if needed. i'm okay with that actually. Guiu has been signed as the main option i reckon - especially with the guaranteed game time clause. although i do think Mayenda will initially start against West Ham. i also think Wilson will surprise a few this season and be more suited to the premierleague and better players picking out his runs etc

although we all wish it would happen like yesterday i think there's one more big signing (CB) to come and the rest of the squad gaps will be plugged with loans towards the end of the window

Other than Reinildo, it’s a championship defence. We’ll be asking him to play CB instead of LB as well
I expect, that we won't be buying proven Premier league defenders, so, anybody we buy, will have as much experience in that league as what we have. They are still a "gamble". Some of our "Championship" players, may actually do well in the league above.

The pre-season games might have provided a hint. I think we might go 3 at the back if we don't bring a CB in before the season starts.
Hume/Ballard and Reinaldo with Diarra or Sadiki sitting in front of them, before a more traditional midfield that includes Le Fee and Xhaka
So we don't have any centre backs, so let's switch to a formation that needs 3 of them instead?!

We aren't going to switch to a formation we've never used before and never tried in preseason all of a sudden like.
