Premier league rule. Back of striped shirts solid colour?

Here's the back of an old Hummel Aalborg shirt.....

Surely they could have just done the same to ours, instead of that monstrosity?
Probably due to the size/space needed for the lettering. Would be fine for Guiu or Rigg but probably not for a longer name (though I can't think of any outfield players we have with really long names, as it happens, perhaps Mayenda or Abdullahi are the longest). But there still must have been a better solution; assuming those images are accurate it looks shite.

A bit of a bollock dropped though by Hummel as surely they'd know the rules for PL shirts and would have considered the possibility of promotion? Anyway, they've had plenty of time since promotion was confirmed to at least get a decent club version ready.
I agree.

Not sure what the lads are doing in the picture but I’m hoping those shirts are just a temporary measure and they’re doing something like motion capture for a console game or something.

i mean the club did tell people this before the kit went on sale. was surprised they sold the retail version as is as surely people (especially bairns) would want the same top the players are wearing

granted the execution is shocking if that's what they've gone with mind
Mentioned in an earlier post but kids don't get the same strip anyway because of the sponsor. The club found out late about the panel being required and had to make a pretty quick decision. I think they made the right choice tbh. And the fans won't always have a different strip to the players

It’s for the sky sports match stuff I think that introduces them etc for on screen graphics.

Whichever way we dress it up hummels dropped a clanger on the club here.

Need to see how it looks on the day but yeah, completely agree that the photo in the thread looks f***ing dreadful. I didn't think that was how it was going to look

it's a different sponsor but same design. the back of this now looks a completely different shirt

Hummel must have known about it even if the club didn't. it'll probably look fine when we get some proper pictures anyway. the home shirt looked shite on the leaked pictures but then wasn't that bad in reality

 Hummel are utter shit man. Remember their first home kits they did for us? The one the payers wore had a stitched on Vaux logo on a white panel, the replicas - just a printed felt logo - looked nothing like it. Fair enough, the first one, Vaux may have decided last minute they wanted a more prominent logo but, the second lot of kits we got from them - exactly the same and looked like knock-off.
Amazingly people wanted this shite back as our kit manufacturer.

Hummel are class man, these are the best kits we have had for years. Way better than the generic shite templates we had before them.

Have they just stuck a sticker onto the shirts?
That’s what it looks like to me
What an absolute shite rule that affects so many historical clubs that played in stripes for 100+ years! And for what? To be more visible on TV??? Why not impose a rule to play with a giant inflatable ball so we can see it better on TV? Why not force players to wear huge helmets so we can spot them clearer on TV or better off let's make all the pitches white with coloured lines....The game is becoming a joke with all this americanization of the sport.

Or do a thing like they do on fifa where it electronically shows you the players name and number. Surely technology can do this.

I'm assuming they're not just gonna hoy stickers on as panels (which it seems from the photo) when we actually play. If so it's similar to what they did with the sponsor a few years back which looked horrendous and proper Sunday League.
