I blame the proliferation of double barrelled names. The names and numbers seem to have gotten fancier and smaller fonts which doesn’t help either.
Ha'way mate that requires reading"The on-field shirt worn during Premier League matches features a solid panel to accommodate player numbers, in line with league requirements. However, after holding detailed discussions with the Premier League throughout the summer, the Club will only retail a fully striped-back version for supporters, preserving the traditional look of our home shirt. This decision was reviewed recently with representatives of our fan groups and agreed that in future seasons we will open up dialogue to understand fan sentiment towards what is worn on field and sold at retail."

Just more ways to appease the tv audience, glory fans, armchairs, international fans. You know, the ones who will care least about clubs’ history and tradition compared to the fans and their families who’ve attended for generations. What is even the rationale behind the rule?
Nonsensical.

Would probably have been manufactured before we achieved PL status.i mean the club did tell people this before the kit went on sale. was surprised they sold the retail version as is as surely people (especially bairns) would want the same top the players are wearing
granted the execution is shocking if that's what they've gone with mind![]()
As above I suspect the replica was manufactured prior to PL status being achieved. You'd think manufacturers would have to get approval from the PL to sign off any new shirts. Seems crazy we could even be put in this position.
I wouldn’t have bought the new kit if it had a blank patch on the back because it looks utter shite.i mean the club did tell people this before the kit went on sale. was surprised they sold the retail version as is as surely people (especially bairns) would want the same top the players are wearing

A bit of a bollock dropped though by Hummel as surely they'd know the rules for PL shirts and would have considered the possibility of promotion? Anyway, they've had plenty of time since promotion was confirmed to at least get a decent club version ready. As above I suspect the replica was manufactured prior to PL status being achieved.
