Robin Roefs 🇳🇱 compendium

Moore may well stay number 2 - given how often he will be used - unless we can get another better keeper on a free or on loan.

If we get a second keeper as you say then both Moore and Patto may go.

We also have the Cameroonian keeper to think about.

Cameron Young on loan at Salford again isn't out of contention - there's surely a recall clause there.

Is Patto off do we think? This level of signing I think means we have two number 1s of a similar level potentially and that’s not how clubs operate. I was expecting us to either stick with Patto or bring in a higher level more experienced keeper. I do like the way we sneak these deals under the radar and your hear about them when they’re effectively done.

You could be right…..but I think that we have lined Patto up with another club and have just been looking to get a replacement over the line.

I would be VERY happy if Patto stays, but I simply would not be surprised if he signs for someone else.
I think you might be right. This "injury" preventing him from playing pre season games could just be to avoid risk of an actual injury

Did any of you even watch our matches last season? Patto was  not shit for us, what the fuck?!
From memory he made one bad mistake against Hull. He sold Bellingham a little short once but Jobe never came shorter to protect the ball. It resulted in a goal. Poor decision undoubtedly.

I don't recall him mis-controlling the ball once.

He did a couple of low punts that led to nothing. Punted the ball off deep in our half a few times. Led to nowt.

Played the ball out of play on average a couple of times a game up near halfway trying to find a wide man as both our forwards are crap in the air.

Overall he was decent. I'd like him to be a little more demanding at times. He's very laid back. He's a good keeper, lad and team mate.

Blondy won't make a matchday squad, think he's exclusively there as an extra body in training and to make the teas.

My personal preference would be for Patto to stay as a number 2 and push Roefs. He's still got a few years on his contract and has already played enough championship games at his age where a season on the bench in the PL isn't going to affect his career prospects. You never know, if we do go down & Roefs is sold then he's back at no 1.

the way Orntein's said this lads gonna be our number 1 I can't see why he'd want to stay and be second fiddle

The play offs showcased how good him, Ballard and Le Fee actually are and I'm not taking this Patto slander like.
Well said mate,he isnt bright shiney new and is the keeper from Div 1 to the Premier. The save at Wembley so early in the game aswell unbelievable. So while agree we need to improve almost every position including GK ,I am happy for Patto to stay and fight back HTLs

PL no 2 is a pretty good gig if you can get it, not like his career prospects are ruined with a year on the bench. Can leave to top end champ next summer if we stay up.

Just on the bottom lines, he is a very quiet, shy lad from experience. Last year the club had him on a few events around the city to try and bring him out of himself, engage with people.

I can't imagine a sought after young goalie with bags of potential coming with anything other than a guarantee that he'll at least start as number 1
