Literally just seen this and was intrigued by the name so checked them out and WOW - great Soulful stuff. I love it but I`m at another gig that night. Might go and see them in Leeds the following week.Tickets bought today for St Paul & The Broken Bones at the NX Arena in January. Canny ways away, but still one to look forward to. Wanted to see them for a few years.

The Kane Gang return to The Fire Station on Friday 1 August for an even bigger show and you can grab 2-for-1 tickets with code TFSKANE241 at checkout. Expect 80s hits like Closest Thing to Heaven, Respect Yourself and Motortown from one of the North East’s most iconic bands, joined live by Mercury Prize nominated Field Music. Special guests Martin McAloon of Prefab Sprout fame and rising alt-pop artist Nadedja complete the line-up for this one-night-only celebration of homegrown talent. Tickets are limited, so don’t hang about. |
Yeah, the singer looks to be a great live performer. I got turned on to them by this YouTube vid that popped up in my suggestions a few years ago...Literally just seen this and was intrigued by the name so checked them out and WOW - great Soulful stuff. How was it (Geordie Greep)? Even though I didn't completely enjoy his last visit, I would've went to this one as the album did grow on me, but I was away.Aye, son got the tickets yesterday.
We're off here Thursday. First festival and first time i've been camping for 10 yearsWe have The Enemy tonight, The Chameleons next week then Kendal Calling. Like buses all my gigs seem to come at once![]()
I never got there due to an ear Infection ( swimmer's ear ) but my son went. He said it was great, but he's always liked him since the Black Midi days. I think the setlist was much the same as before but the songs were fleshed out a bit more according to him.How was it (Geordie Greep)? Tell me about it, really looking forward to it, but dreading 4 nights in a tent! We're off here Thursday. First festival and first time i've been camping for 10 years
Not my idea of fun at all, keeping the other half happy before the season startshoping it doesn't rain too much but not confident looking at the forecast
First I've heard of it , sounds a bit out there for up here . Do they go well?Boundaries Festival is back in Sunderland for a 5th year on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd November. Determined to make it for the first time but might have to settle for the Saturday night. Félicia Atkinson should be something special.

People travel to Sunderland for this. I've never been able to make it to one yet but I think the passes usually sell well as they are priced low. As it explains on the website funding wasn't secured this year and it looks like they are just using 3 venues. I think in previous years there's been stuff on in pubs too. Was chuffed when I saw Félicia Atkinson was on. I thought I'd have to travel far to see her. Her album "Space As An Instrument" released last year is great especially on headphones. Hearing that led to me buying quite a bit of her music. The Unit Ama are very good live band although they don't have an extensive catalogue. Saw them at Split Festival years ago. I also hope to catch Sly & The Family Drone too who I've not seen before but I have their album "Moon Is Doom Backwards" which I'd first read about on the Quietus website. The only other artist I know of those that have been announced is harpist Rhodri Davies. Saw him at the Glasshouse a few months ago supporting Richard Dawson and he was good. Will need to do some homework and check out the others. Really excited for this but I understand it's not going to appeal to a lot of people.First I've heard of it , sounds a bit out there for up here . Do they go well?
We camped at Pickering last week. BBC forecast beforehand was thunder and pissing rain the full 3 days I was there. We had one heavy shower that lasted an hour or two. Forecasts are not worth a wank these days. Anyway I wouldn’t worry too much, if it rains it rains. It’ll still be class. We’re setting off tomorrow to camp nearby so we can get in the queue early, I’m chomping at the bit nowWe're off here Thursday. First festival and first time i've been camping for 10 years
