More journalists writing us off

Of course it will be by the skin of our teeth but that will be good enough, laughably heard people saying we will finish between 10th and 12th. Until we sign a player that can get us 10-15 goals it’ll be a big big struggle. But bang up for it

Also knows European leagues very well and probably the players we have signed.

The ramble is terrible for knowledge and just pushes zany banter

I’m probably in the minority where I quite like the ‘zany banter’.

In terms of knowledge, Brassell is good (leaving like), so is Vish. The others are a mix of average to dreadful.

OTC is class. A very knowledgeable group.

What's happening with Brassell like?

It's not surprising and it's understandable. But don't forget by all models and predictions we were supposed to finish bottom half in the championship last year, I trust in this manager, squad and club to outperform expectations
When other promoted teams sign known, established players like Walker or Longstaff and we're going for relatively unknown 20yr olds from Belgium, it's not a surprise most pundits understandably don't expect much. So I agree, I back us to outperform expectations!

They’re not journalists. Have, and always will be, zany wankers. So up their own arses it’s unbelievable. And absolutely zero insight into football beyond the same tired jokes over and over.

I always think we’ll go down fwiw. But that doesn’t stop Luke and Pete being *****.

I'm always surprised at how little some professional football pundits know about football, or at least outside of their direct experience.

It's shooting fish in a barrel, I know, but some of the ex pros on Sky, TalkSport, or 5Live are so clueless it's almost funny, so it's their default position to go Walker > Reinildo, not cos it's a reason opinion but cos they've only heard or one of them.

I think we’ll be way better than the journos and bookies are saying. Decent recruitment so far, add a couple of quality CB’s, a keeper and a 15+ goals striker and we’ll definitely be competitive against teams like Wolves, Brentford, West Ham, Everton and the other 2 promoted teams.

No one had us being promoted last season, infact a good number had us down to be fighting relegation (this messageboard being a prime example) it’s a lazy and easy prediction having us to be relegated.

It’s up to us to prove everyone wrong.

Good job we have a month and a half left to sign them then.
Yep.

We're still favourites to go down. It's not surprising. It is a risk signing these youngsters with no premier league experience.

It might turn out really well, but equally, it might not. I'm more than happy to see us use this approach rather than signing the likes of Longstaff.

Also the AFCON period is a genuine concern.

Think at least one of the promoted sides stops up this season, the likes of Brentford, Bournemouth, Wolves and West Ham look weaker than they have for years. Then there’s Fulham and Everton who could be drawn into a relegation scrap. These are the sides we need to be beating alongside Leeds and Burnley if we are to stop up.

I mean it is understandable lets be honest, we finished 4th and went up via a last minute winner in the playoff semi final and final. We might have strengthened but we also lost Jobe who was a central part of the team. Personally i'm optimistic, and think we can surprise a few people, but we wont really know until the season kicks off in earnest. I'd be delighted with 17th and I think we all would if we were truly honest with ourselves....

Latest being the football ramble, the mag on there couldn’t wait to have a pop. He doesn’t know where we’re going to get a point from 😂 smacks of a bunch of journalists who never poke their heads outside of the premier league bubble.

Nowt wrong with journalists thinking we'll be relegated.

I like this podcast, but they are so big 6 and premier league focussed it becomes tiresome, and at times they sound a wee bit out of touch. They’re big mag sympathisers too.

They're Premier League focused because they also have a podcast for European football and the Second Tier is also part of their group.
