T20 Durham v Leicestershire/ Northants

I got home around 10.20 and have had to take a while to digest that game.
I wasn’t confident we could pass their score and decided to stay off here and just enjoy some excellent batting from Lees and Clark.
Brilliant performance and superb entertainment, well done lads.

As everyone knows on here I am usually totally nonplussed by Lees' captaincy but I always maintain he is one of our best ever signings when it comes to batting and that innings tonight ( supported by Clarky) was superb.
Long may it continue.

He's even worse than the previous clown on the mic....and that's saying something.
It's hard to see him not going second behind Colly in all time run scorers for Durham in the CC. He could even go first if he played long enough and stayed at the level required.

A truly cracking batsman and a really good one day player too.

I just think for large chunks of his T20 career for us he's been too old school in how he plays. Which still gets runs but not at the rate you need from an opener. Who should be your most expansive players. I was very much up for swapping him and Robinson round to try and get the most out of their best attributes.

But in recent games it's like a switch has flipped for Lees and he's opened up his scoring arc to being pretty much 360 and it's been marvellous viewing.

P.s the new announcer a definite clown announcing the next man Ackermann aka Bedingham.

I've often thought in the past just one day it might all come together. Today was that day. At the interval I thought it would either go to the wire or, the more likely outcome, we would be all out for somewhere around 120. Can't really believe what I've just witnessed.
Totally agree , but what a refreshing change. Great leadership from Lees

Anyone else think at the end of their innings there was nee chance....
Anyone who posted something negative can lay claim to tempting fate and securing this superb batting response. Well that's what I'm saying
Thank you
Brilliant batting performance tonight. Bowling was poor at times but after watching us bat it was clearly a decent wicket.

Lees played proper shots. He's a top order batsman in CC and 1 Day cricket so just needs to stick to his normal game of playing cricket shots as opposed to trying to do daft sweeps and ramps constantly. He's big and powerful to hit through the ball.

Clark great as well, very decent knock as he's has starts but not kicked on as much as we'd hope this year.

Bedingham with the best forward defensive I'll likely ever see in T20

Can't afford to do time travelling so I'm not going. FFS can the Club not get ANYTHING right. From the gadgie on the mic tonight. Northants won the toss and are batting. I was confused when a team wearing yellow and blue came out. The new batter (FFS) is Colin Ackerman. No it's David Beddingham. I have no idea how this club hosts international cricket given they cannot get anything remotely right at local level.

My first post on here, felt compelled to join in after watching that display last night. I have known Leesy for years and he is a great lad. I last chatted to him a few weeks ago and he talked about changing his T20 batting approach, we have reaped the benefits fully of that change in this game. As for his role as a captain, he is there for two reasons, his presence and his knowledge. He has often been constrained by bowling options, which dictates a lot of choices on that front. He doesnt always do the obvious thing but he does do things as a captain for a reason. He is a good leader, end of, people who don't get that are missing the point.

We are lucky that his face didn't fit at England, he was never really given the chance to settle and has done more than enough to get a recall in place of Crawley. Were he any other nationality he would be a test regular. Perhaps something to thank the old school tie mob for?

Re your second paragraph, I was listening to TMS a few weeks ago when the situation re the openers was discussed. His name and current form were mentioned as a serious contender, and he would be a big miss for the county team if he was picked for England.

I pay 0% attention to the 16.4 so genuinely have no idea if he's been signed up by one of the crisp franchises or not but imagine after a knock like that he soon will be.

Have the club purchased a time machine?

I’d eat my hat if they dropped Crawley.
