Boro thread

I'm confused. A poster mentioned a few weeks ago that you didn't really speak about Boro on here when you were in League One because we were in seperate divisions.

According to him, the same thing would happen now that we're once again in seperate divisions.

That was me.

Don't put words in my mouth.

I said I assumed this thread would be shifted to parsnip like the NUFC one but as I wasn't a mod I couldn't be certain.

You can check back if you want - please don't misquote me - it makes you look bitter and trying to score points.

Mind you, I will be absolutely delighted if this turd of a thread full of Boro fans who'd rather snipe at us than talk about their own team gets shit-canned from this board.

No worries if yous do. I will just play all the cards Boro fans have used since our promotion was confirmed.

"Lose every week"
"They'll waste loads of money on shite and come straight back down"

I don't think I've said any of that.
End of the day you've gone up because you deserved to.
You beat us fair and square in both matches and were up there challenging right from the off.

I also said (way before the play offs) that your manager should have got manager of the season (for the championship), for the change in your performances/league position compared to the season previous..

All I said was that yes you've spent a fair amount and are showing ambition, but it doesn't guarantee anything.

Boro are my team (for my sins), so I'm always gonna put us first but end of the day it's only football.

I do remember you saying that

Yes, that's what I said - I didn't say it would definitely happen.

But fingers crossed it will.

Are you concerned about your recruitment for the new season, and the amount of time your new manager will have to work with whatever squad he ends up with ?
I'd prefer not to rush into signings and to take our time to find the right players, so not too concerned.

Still a lot of talk regarding interest in Van Den Berg, Hackney and Azaz, so it may be that we're waiting to see if they're sold first, before committing to any new signings.

If we sell all 3 we should have a decent amount to spend. I'd imagine we'll have already identified many targets, and selling the 3 players I've mentioned should mean we can go after some of the more expensive targets. Would be reckless to spend decent money now and then we don't end up selling the 3 players.

I’ll be honest , I would like boro to go up so all the north east is in there and maybe replace one of the glut of London clubs or Bournemouth in their tinpot shed of a ground

That’s me though. I’ve never hated boro , I don’t like losing to them but it’s a mile off nufc

I'd rather see Boro be successful than the Scum.

Only enough room in my heart to hate one.

Oh please...

I'll tell you what?

Do you fancy doing something a bit different?

Do you fancy actually actually posting about Boro?

Given Gibson is apparently taking a back seat and letting others run the club?
Do you see this as a positive step?
Or do you see it as a potential stagnation if he stops funding you?

Do I fancy actually posting about Boro? Ironic that the post you've quoted includes me doing just that.

And yes, I do see it as a positive step. The jury is still out with regards to Kieran Scott but he's wanted Edwards in for some time now, so will be interesting to see how things go with the two of them working together.

Carrick was Gibson's man.

Where do you think boro will finish ?
