Boro thread

I'm confused. A poster mentioned a few weeks ago that you didn't really speak about Boro on here when you were in League One because we were in seperate divisions.

According to him, the same thing would happen now that we're once again in seperate divisions.

I honestly don’t know much about them ?-my positivity is that the hierarchy seem to once again have a plan -want pace and youth .
If as everyone is predicting ( pundits bookies fans of other clubs ) we go straight back down -we seem to have a team that can compete again to come back .
My concern is obviously experience-however hoping once again “ the exuberance of youth “carries us over the line.
Excited and hopefully with a sell out sol week in week out may help
Having young uns they get a lot more slack ( rightly so ) as you know-I do expect we will shock one or two
 
You know what, if it wasn’t for berks like @Seaham star and his mates boring us all to death trying to convince themselves Boro were better than us while on a Sunderland AFC forum this thread would have died a long time ago.
Can you imagine what he and his other Boro bores would be like on here if our roles were reversed. Think about that.
Oh and if you get the better of him he calls you a bully. 😉

What I said was, I thought it was funny that it was okay for Boro to come on to a Sunderland forum to take the piss when we were in league 1. However when the roles are reversed it’s weird behaviour and we should focus on the teams in our own division.

It’s brilliant like. Boro fans coming on to a Sunderland forum to take the piss as we struggled. We then do alright for a bit with 2 promotions in 4 years and we apparently should focus on teams in our own division. :lol:

The advantage of signing youth is that you're potentially signing players with sell on potential.

Bit surprised you didn't push to sign Henderson mind, as he would have been valuable as a leader for all the youngsters in my opinion.

Nah, was a different poster who said that Boro never got a mention on here when you were in League One because you were busy talking about the clubs in League One at the time.

It was different last season because we were both in the same division.

I said to him I'd imagine Boro won't get mentioned on here now, as you'll want to focus on Premier League clubs and he agreed.

The hierarchy have earned the trust of us all
So far pretty much bang on
Manager -players been great ( like most teams the odd blip ) however to go from 4 seasons in 3 rd division to where we are now is night and day .
Massive buy in from fan base -Henderson is the prodigal son but for whatever reason ?-didn’t look like an agreement was ever close .
Be v interesting to see how we go ..cannot wait ( really are the underdogs as we were in play offs )
Full house 46000 crowd will play a huge part at home hopefully-need a good start

I think they will have to adapt their transfer strategy. For years, Boro were one of the big fish in the championship, able to offer good money and spend to attract good players, either permanently or on loan.

Nowadays, with the ridiculous parachute payments clubs alongside the promoted Hollywood clubs, I fear they are just “another team.” Not intending to take the piss as we were absolutely in the same bracket last season.

I wonder if this will take them further abroad and adopt a different approach to signings. I thought they would’ve backed Edwards by now but there is plenty of time left. They have done with the coaching set up to be fair.

I don’t envy them as the league appears quite tough this season, a small comfort for ourselves in the likely event we drop back down, we will be the benefactors of said ridiculous parachute payments - hopefully we would use them better this time
