Jordan Henderson (signed for Brentford)

For reference, Jamie Vardy has 3 years on Henderson and performed at a very high level in those 3 years. No reason Henderson won’t be able to play at PL level for this year and start to maybe ease down the following? After helping us stay up of course!

People need to wake up about dan neil. The same people who say Patterson is fantastic yet the club have realised not good enough for top level. Dan Neil is an average championship player. In a play off side in the championship he was regarded as our 3rd best central midfielder behind jobe and rigg. Gets caught in possession loads, not many assists, not many goals, not a great tackler, daft red cards. Pull up his stats if you want. If he was that good clubs would be queuing up for him especially as his contract running down. Alex Neil dropped him in a heartbeat and we barely lost a game when he did. He’s not as good as jobe, rigg and pritchard was also better than him. He’s a local lad who is decent no better. Sounds like he maybe thinks he’s better than he is. I think he’ll regret not signing a contract sooner. His performance in play off final for a captain was disgraceful.

Alex Neil took him and Doyle out of the team because he said they had be flogged by the previous tatey and they were only young lads.

Jordan Henderson being the leader in our midfield would be the making of Dan Neil I think. I don't think Neil would lose the captaincy unless he isn't signing a new deal of course

For the majority of the fans I think so aye but he’s nowhere near what we’ve been trying to do with signings so far. Maybe Brown in terms of ‘experience’ but I’m not sure we fancy it. Let’s see.

This is my gut instinct here - I just can't see us spending over £100k a week on a 35 year old with the psr constraints. Emotional connection or not.

Not sure why it suddenly seems to be a fact he would cost over 100k a week when he wasn't even on that at ajax.

Club will decide what's best either way
