Simon Adingra 🇨🇮 Signed!

But it does seem a bit short sighted by us, why didn't they come to some sort of swap agreement?

Feels like Brighton got the better deal, money for a player who underperformed last season and a young Englishman who is the best prospect I have seen play in our youths since Hendonson.
It was pretty obvious we’ve tried that mate hence the deal fell through in January. The lad didn’t want to join a championship club.

We had to sell Watson yes, but we should have waited until the end of the season to do the deal. His value increased significantly after the playoff final and we could command more money being in the prem.

12m was way too cheap when Leeds got 40 for Gray. I am convinced Watson will be an England regular and will sell for serious money to Man City, Liverpool, etc.

We received £12 million for a lad with a year left on his contract and the equivalent of 10 Championship 90 minutes under his belt. I've no doubt he'll go on to be a top player but talk of £40 million fees is complete nonsense.

That fee has allowed us to bring in an additional 2 Premier League ready £20 million players this season under PSR and massively increase our chances off survival this season.

Adingra’s rating is far higher on FC 25 than Watson and his potential rating is higher as well.
We love Watson now for what he did for us but Haway man people comparing a lad that’s played for his national side and played in the premier league where as Watson has done nowt as of yet played a handful of times in the second tier.

Genuine question, am I missing something here in that we’re going to be decimated during AFCON? They all seem like really good signings just think they’ll likely be away for a decent chunk of the season.

As said before he didn’t want to play in the Championship, but also it is better for PSR on both sides as you bank the transfer money received straight away but the money out is spread over the contract length. Hence way the mags bought the forest keeper and not part exchange with their player going to Forest

It’s 6 games for anyone whose team gets to the final. Most will be back after 3 or 4

I think if Watson stayed hed have been 1st choice LW by November and one of our standouts.

But 'it is what it is', this lad has performed in the PL before and will be a good signing.

I think the clubs new transfer policy is "splash the cash" and if we don;t stay up. Decent "return on investment" if we go down.

The last time we did this was under MCarthy, a lovely man. Tis all seems very bizarre indeed. We're spending , a lot.

Agreed, that was very situational as a t the time. We did not look like going up and "the wheels had fallen off"

Then he goes and scores the winner at Wembley...

It's not really bizarre, we are signing within the philosophy of young players, it's just gone up a notch due to the level we can attract and what we can spend now, there are a lot of young players available for more money who have more experience and can help out instantly rather than later. Then if they do well, they could become 40/50/60m pound players

He be getting his head lopped off at this rate..
