Since we started making big money signings

Nothing less important than a mags' opinion.

I agree, the fact every PL club gets given £100m+ per year just for being in the league means this is just us trying to catch up.

agree with the first point.

second point - even with these signings our team is still probably less expensive than the other promoted signings isn't it?

How many we signed like?
Loads a money
Seriously, who do you think you're fooling with this shite?
You're not getting any of the bites you're hoping for for your "deluded world..."
Awesome.
Were still gambling, only the stakes are higher and to be frank, i havent heard of any of the players weve signed, or linked with.... Were going to be a real enigma and if it goes wrong like the DiCanio Fanti foreign signings it wont just be relegation, but its a massive amount of money down the drain..... All the mags i know are waiting to see their signings and have zero interest in us at the mo.
Calculated risk marra. Not random.

why are you worried? When we signed Le fee, he is class above. A premier league standard clearly. Im sure diarra, reinaldo and petrotiv will be good. Im sure of that. come on, no more negativities will ya.
A certain air of overconfidence seems to infect some happy clappers and we have gambled our way out of L1 and Championship, but any gambler knows sometimes you have to fold. All I see is another massive gamble unfolding and i truly hope we strike gold a third time..... But ?
Loads a money

The trouble is this isnt the championship and we will get zero time to find our legs and the calculation is like a ship protected all or nothing and lets hope were not blown out of the water and gone by xmas.

Standard PL players cost £20m +. Maybe people are getting a bit over excited all teams will spend and we’re starting as the worst team in the league so we need to strengthen a lot more than 3 other teams to have a chance of survival. I’m pleased we’re taking this approach many of the championship squad would be found out I think at PL level.

I think we may have made it to this league at just the right time, many of the clubs are maxed out on PSR & won’t be spending like previous years, some may even have a negative spend this window.

Big money signings? Only in relation to what has been spent the last 8 years. By PL standards, it’s pennies
Up until now I think we've spent wisely on young internationals who will only get better and an older top level player on a free. Money doesn't guarantee success at all, look at Man United who've washed millions down the drain.
They are miles ahead of us like. I doubt they are phased they spend more on squad players than our big signings so far.
They may not be by the time the transfer window closes if they are minus Isak and Gordon.

I'm not looking forward to the derbies BUT
I'm not as bothered about them as i once was. I class them as totally irrelevant and put their games with us in the same bin as Chelsea and Man.City which strangely enough irritates them more so. I'll talk general football with my mag mates but as soon as they bring themselves into the conversation it becomes"how's the weather" " what's Trump up to now?"or "let's have another beer". ...drives them crackers.

Never heard a mag say looking forward to the derby. Funny that.

I was in a pub in Wallingford, (small village in Buckinghamshire), with my son, where we'd just watched us win the playoff final.

Five minutes after the full time whistle, when we'd stopped our cheering and a hollering, a random mag who had been quietly watching (probably hoping for a Sheffield win) came up to me and said "well done, I'm looking forward to the derby" my son, quick as a flash, "six in a row" 😎 🤣 🤣

Obviously lots can change in the transfer window. Even if that happened they would still be miles ahead of us. Probably even if they didn’t replace them, which they would.

We haven’t spent “big money” for this league, and everyone we’ve signed (assuming they do actually sign) are completely unproven in this league:

They’re smart, interesting signings, but let’s not get carried away. I think people are going to be shocked after five games or so.
Diarra is the highest transfer fee ever paid by a newly promoted club.

Newcastle were fortunate to make the Champions League, they weren't that good even with Isak and Gordon. They are having difficulty recruiting, nobody seems to want to play for them.
