Since we started making big money signings

Not really big signings though. No one has heard of them and none of them have proved a thing in the league we playing in next season. Hardly making other teams shit themselves
oh yeah having not spent over 5 million on a player for 8 years then spending £20 million+ on potentially 5 players in the space of a month isn't that big of a deal really. How the fuck else would you define big signings for us 🤣 we have literally made our top 3, looking like it could become top 5 soon, most expensive signings in one window.

The money we are spending isn't unusual for top flight teams now, in fact it's fairly average/lower half spending. We haven't bought anyone who's guaranteed to be better than what most teams have at this level.
We are buying kids with what looks like good potential for pretty average Premier League sums, nothing has really changed from the last few seasons where we did similar for Championship sums. Hopefully we get it as right for this level as we did for the last

Whilst I do agree with this I don't think it was a level playing field when Mike Ashley was running them into the ground and we had Short. We still laud the six in a row over them as if we were on equal footing though when in fact Mike Ashley was happy to just finish 17th every season.

Give over

With the exception of the Bruce 10th year (where let's be honest, we were lucky to finish that high up and were about 15th going into the final day) we were in a relegation scrap every year. We finished 17th twice in that period.

Both teams were poor by premier league standards and all we had to play for was staying up and the derbies.

Yeah but we spent a fortune and wasted it , it wasn't without trying we just spent very badly . The mags and Mike Ashley in particular had zero ambition and wanted to finish 17th every season.
