Leeds forum

Probably explains his spat with Cloughie.

He played for us I believe

Nowt to do with their Middlesbrough birthplace, just totally opposite characters with weirdly parallel lives and a mutual dislike of each other.

Clough, for several years, made several comments about ' dirty Leeds ' and their tactics.
Clough loved free flowing, attacking football while Revie was more pragmatic.

Both were successful, both on and off the pitch, Clough more than Revie.

Both played for us, and both sadly died before their time.......Clough from stomach cancer at age 69, and Revie from motor neurone disease at only 61 years.

** I'll have to watch The Damned United again now.... 😃 😀

Sorry mate but your most important player is Pickford. There's no way you are getting in the top 10 if you are signing the likes of Coufal. You scored 42 goals last season only 6 more than Ipswich. You'll be knocking about in the bottom 8 same as us.
So you seem to be forgetting 14 goals in 19 games managed under Dyche (17pts)

Then 28 goals in 19 under Moyes that’s a massive turn around (31pts)

The only success they had was vs wit Revie.

Wasn’t Revie from up here?
Any success that Revie had has to be looked through a lens filter made of envelope grade brown paper! We are not the deluded mags we can acknowledge that the post war years leeds have had a better time of it than us but i will never sustain the notion for one microsecond that they have ever had a bigger and better support than us in the 107 years they have been in existence!
In the modern era the" Bigness" metric that counts is money so i have nee idea whether Leeds are bigger in that sense i know at the moment brentford and brighton ...

The metric that counts less to the suits of the game is the support a club has but we have clearly demonstrated over the years and especially though this years playoffs that safc and footy itself is the lifeblood of many in the north east and we have something special that all but the most biased can see and in my opinion can not be said about the Brightons,Bournemouth,Brentfords and even the leeds and shef united's of this present era!

I cannot say we are the greatest fans in the world of football as i dont know how you quantify that in any meaningful sense but i say with pride and will defend the statement till the end of my days it that there are no better fans than those that populate the safc massive anywhere on this in this little blue marble spinning in the darkness of space !

Something i've noticed online from Leeds fans is a claim that they have "huge global support". Whenever the topic comes up about how big they are they often claim to have loads of support worldwide. Apparently you "see Leeds fans everywhere" around the world.

In my experience of visiting different places around the world I haven't seen any evidence of this. In places like Spain you may see a few Leeds shirts but they're one of those fanbases who like to wear their shirts more than others, like Newcastle. Further afield you see the Sky 6 shirts frequently due to them being relevant in the PL era recently. Chelsea, Arsenal etc.

I don't know how they can prove such global support so the only slight indication of global popularity that can be proven would be social media. And Leeds have less followers on Instagram than Wrexham.

Can't edit the last post so this is what I meant to say.

He’s saying, if Leeds pushed the boat out and paid the fee we paid he would have gone to them, they matched our bid! So did the German teams and the lad still chose us. What’s happened is, all the other clubs have lowballed them( which might have had an effect) we have come in and said we are willing to pay top whack for him, showing our determination and ambition to the player and agent and Strasbourg have accepted it, the other clubs have scrambled and realised they have to pay the money, tried too but too little too late.

We didn't match your bid. You've obviously prioritised the player and position above what Leeds have.
Which forums your main one like?
