Leeds forum

Fair play to the twats they've somehow managed to convince some of the hard of thinking across Yorkshire (of which there are many) that they are The club to support if you're from Yorkshire, tagging on to the perception that Leeds is the only place that matters in the Broad Acres. But without the plastics from Bradford, York, Doncaster, Barnsley, Hull, Halifax and others their support is pathetic.

Dirty Leed = Bigger recent history.
Sunderland = Bigger history overall, bigger support with bigger attendance loyalty, bigger potential, bigger stadium, bigger cultural reach, biggest football forum by post count (go and use your own)
‘Cultural’ 😂 you guys crack me up you do…..Cultural indeed you silly sausage 😂

Ok. In my humble opinion the money tends to follow the bigger clubs. Take a list of the PL and Championship clubs and force rank them in terms of sponsorship / commercial revenues. I personally think that is a good barometer. Aside from a few clubs who we may argue are laundering money or flouting the sponsorship rules there are no real surprises in that list other than that Leeds are 15th despite not being in the PL for the period in question

I’m not saying SFC aren’t a big club, or they haven’t won more titles etc (btw you haven't if we look at post war history) - in fact, I didn’t even bring up about Leeds being a bigger club. You did that all on your own and this whole question seems to be something that only you are obsessed with.
Midnight

What's Southampton got to do with it?

I don't think we're bigger than Leeds (yet). In my lifetime they've won the league and got to the champions League semis, while at the same time we've done fuck all

That's the mistake people make though. That's ancient history now.

Leeds recently have languished between championship and Premier league relegation.

They haven't been a consistent premier league side in 20 years. Both clubs are similarly sized. The Leeds fans are off it 🤣

They'll say there bigger than Newcastle as well but could they attract a player Newcastle wanted this summer? No chance.

Could Rotherham have signed Diarra? No because they aren't a big enough club. If we have the ability to sign a player from another club for the same role, eg straight into the first team. Then we're obviously on a similar level.

We are bigger than Leeds by every measure. Won twice as many league titles and fa cups as them. Absolutely blown them out of the water on attendances since the year dot. All from a city and metropolitan area with a population a third of what Leeds has.
Not to the rest of the country we aren't

I wouldn't say it's ancient history, what would that make our trophys then? Not meaning to come across as a Leeds apologist (would be great if they went down 😄) but they've won the league in most of our lifetimes.

Our trophies are ancient history though.

They still count but we wouldn't be up in arms if a player picked Brighton over us would we as we know a footballer couldn't care less that we have a good history.

Was mainly due to their over physicality in games nowt to do with revies money activities
A combination of both iirc Honk. Revie was well known for his 'influencing' of officials with 'discreet' pre-match 'chats' and friendly relations with the press who turned a blind eye. It's the reason why a number of other managers had little positive to say about him including Cloughie and Stokoe, who absolutely hated him with a passion.

You know, you’ve put forward such a strong argument I really think I’ve learned a big lesson. I apologise for offering a reasoned argument but hey let’s bang on about what happened before the war 😂
So you want to start “history” at a point to suit your already feeble arguement🤷‍♂️😂

Nobody really gives a shit what you think, just support your team fella and enjoy the Premier League next season 👌

Yes, fully agree mate, i don't think players are that fussed about the history of the club they are joining, it's all about the here and now (and the money!) I think fans in general can dismiss other team's achievements a bit as they are blinded by their love for their own club.

Cloughy hated Stokoe too after he done his knee on Boxing Day 62 Stokoe claimed Cloughy was kidding

Why Cloughy never tipped us to win in 73

Used to consider Leeds to be "the" orrible club but Notts Forest have slowly taken the mantle of being absolute rats in recent years.

Singing about poverty / scousers despite being from a dive of a city.

Called us cheats then failed PSR themselves

Their drug baron owners antics

Hiring Clattenburg to try influence the PGMOL

Making daft statements over referees because they didnt get a penalty in a game

Trying to grass Crystal Palace up to UEFA

Tory scabs.

Forest have always cosied up to the mags as well.

……(or SaFC for the pedants)……
You made me lose interest in your post at this point. It is akin to saying that your club are LuFC for pedants rather than LFC, especially see8ng as you are a one club city. Sunderland AFC is the OFFICIAL title of the club. We are one of the few to encompass the word ‘Association’ in the official club name.
You need to investigate before throwing around wild and nonsensical comments.
