Wrestling - Part 3

Do you watch a lot of aew?
Quite a bit when I get the chance. Down to YouTube clips with both companies atm though. Can't get through a full Raw or SD. WWE is very flat for me right now and AEW just shoot themselves in the foot at any given opportunity. Ospreay is who I'd put in that top position over Page imo.

Great episode of Raw on Monday night, loads of unpredictable and exciting action. I absolutely could not have predicted the entire show beforehand.

Rollins' faction opening
Penta in the 1st match of the night
Cargill winning KOTR semi-final
Lyra costing Bayley the title
Cody winning KOTR semi-final
Penta/Gable confrontation again

I don't mind what they're doing with Penta tbh. They clearly want a new Mexican star and it seems to be him. He is charismatic and is over with the audience so it's working for them, unfortunately the pacing of everything right now is glacial.

The Rollins faction is utter bollocks. The Brons just stand about and so does Hayman whilst Rollins harps on about sod all FFS. Thank god for YouTube because there's no chance I could sit through 3 hours of this, it's not as bad as say 2015-2019 raw but it seemingly feels like it's in mud.

Nah I am not too fussed on Penta good or bad tbh, but he rocks up in the same slot every week so you know when to expect him  .The whole show is so predictable at the minute and the matches are too long, it's a slog to watch.

Rollins' faction is dull as dishwater I agree, Cena's heel turn has fallen flat even if I did enjoy his pipebomb, Punk is tedious, Cody is the new Hogan and I can't watch Jey Uso's ten minute entrance every week. Definitely seems a real creative lull at the moment.

Oh well at least there's Goldberg.

Cornette's opinion on Bill was interesting as ever, always an entertaining listen 🤣

I liked Gunther's promo on Raw. Somewhere in Calgary... Alberta Canada, Bret was watching muttering "not brutal enough".

Would be class if they had Bret at ringside to laugh at Goldberg get minced just walking to the ring 😂
Shows you how much of a work Wrestling is, last time Bret came to the ring Gunther said Goldberg was his favourite 🤣.

mad these stars of the past like hogan, bret etc are 70 or pushing it...

You just know Bret for real still hates Bill Goldberg. I love him, he holds a grudge like no other.

It's more surprising to see wrestlers from when I was a kid (and before) still alive unfortunately. Jerry Lawler has had three strokes and has never drank or done drugs. Probably why he's still going.

Or the grueling schedule.. Stan Hansen has had a good retirement after wrestling the lighter Japanese style on the road.

Bret is probably bitter after successive slaps in the face (Hogan, hbk, McMahon, Goldberg etc) and he came out of the bad end of all of it imo like ;). He played a major part in creating the biggest drawing star in history in Austin too

Hansen always has been blind as a bat as well. Vader said in a shoot that Hansen mainly only worked bigger lads not just because of the draw in money but because he was so short sighted and would sometimes hit wrestlers for real (see vaders eye coming out).

Bret is just class. He's a proper grumpy Da and he has reason to be. Imagine being around Michaels in the mid 90s FFS. Anyone would be bitter after that. Plus his brother and how that was handled, then he's in WCW wrestling mid card for no reason and then gets kicked in the head by that knacker.

It has to be said though (in Goldbergs defence) Bret also gave himself a concussion that same match with Goldberg, the kick only made it final. If you watch the match (and Bret has said this before) he does the figure four around the post move and falls back too fast smacking the back of his head off the floor.

Cm punk biggest sell out bitch ever, thought he had an actual moral stance against the Saudis, overly weird support of Trans, and he forgets it all for money. Surely he’s turning heel, his current character is an ultimate ****!

He is a truly terrible human being.

He is everything he shouted so loudly against years ago. A hypocrite and a fraud, he's vomit inducing.

That rap promo he did last night when impersonating Cena might have been alright if he did it in time, didn't stumble over words and wasn't in front of an audience with no interest and actually understood some of the references.

Cenas heel turn is crap mind. 15 more appearances after tonight. Once he’s gone through his list of who he wants to fight before retiring.
In his defence, the rock couldn't be arsed to carry the story-line on ;), still disappointed that Dwayne behaved like that...if it had been Hogan carrying on..

Bret's a bit deluded to think that his injury is based on one singular event and not decades of taking liberties to his body.

Like that was the first time he'd ever taken a bang to the head?

Ortons either unbelievably good at selling, or he's legit fucked his back again.

This could've been a really good match but he can barely move.
