Best test bowler in the world Bum-rah... you couldn't make it up
But he dropped the man stokes got out.Could have done with Duckett holding on to that. Still a couple down. Big day tomorrow from the bowling unit.
I think they will be confident of chasing anything under 400 last day.
It's been a really good test mind.
Fair play, I just thought we might've had a bit more time to bowl at Gill and co. Just sloppy more than anything, but you're right didn't cost us much in the end.But he dropped the man stokes got out.
So no real issue with the drop
What a days cricket, Brook and smith were both fantastic along with Woakes, canny cameo from the MLF Carse. Bumrah was unfortunately fantastic for India.
The game is still on a knife edge after 3 days, Haway test cricket
I cannot confirm or deny
Was at days 1 & 2 - definitely got the best of the weather. Wore my Rowell Sunderland top and got A LOT of love from fellow Sunderland fans in the stadium (Western Terrace) and in the surrounding pubsGreat day yesterday.
Hanging today
I assume the Hawkeye technology is capable of being as near instant as it is in tennis. The only reason they do it the way they do in cricket is because it’s all part of the show. I can’t see any technical reason why it couldn’t just beep in the umpire’s ear as it does for a tennis umpire. At least when it comes to the LBW questions. You could still let them refer inside edges using the challenge system, perhaps.Have you given thought to how much worse over rates would become if every suspected dismissal was referred to DRS.
And if he’d miscued the first one? You can’t choose an advance which ones you are going to mishit, and then only not play the shot on those. They’ve given themselves a real issue with the short ball by refusing to just see it out. Hit one for six sure but after that you’ve done the damage

But yes, if there is a reason why it has to be so much slower, then I agree it’s a bad idea because of that.
I assume if it could be instant it would be by now.lbw decisions are much more complex than a tennis ball being in and out As are Nick's behind. I can see several reasons why it can't be instant. However,...
Had a great day, great craic around us and great cricket, left the ground at 6 and was home for 8.
Great day ? Was a great watch on telly
Whereabouts did you watch from ?Had a great day, great craic around us and great cricket, left the ground at 6 and was home for 8.
Thankfully the rain we had was limited and we got to 6pm before it affected the game.
Western terrace, more or less square of the wicket.Whereabouts did you watch from ?
I really should make an effort to at least once experience a test at headingley
Absolute chaos in there via tellyWestern terrace, more or less square of the wicket.
I would definitely recommend it, it’s a superb ground to watch cricket and plane spotting!
Stewards were trying to stop beer snakes and a few were chucked out when it got heated! It was probably the most interesting thing to happen bar the 2 wickets in the evening sessionAbsolute chaos in there via telly![]()
I heard the trumpeter playing the stripper tune
Was somebody stripping ?
I was in the east stand right next to where there was a crowd catch off Brook in the first few oversWhereabouts did you watch from ?

The way he took Siraj on was brilliantI was in the east stand right next to where there was a crowd catch off Brook in the first few overs
And Bumrah at the start. Set the tone. Brilliant innings. Would have loved him to carry on but that's cricket for you. The cricketing gods probably thought they'd given him as much luck as he was going to get. Happy with his 99 not so much his dismissal. The way he took Siraj on was brilliant
