Sheff Wed - financial issues

Clubs in freefall, I honestly wouldn'tbe surprised if we dropped to league 1 next year , and further the season after.
We have a manager who wants out, and his backroom staff who are out of contract next week, players haven't been paid ..again, and the EFL do sod all about the "Fit and proper persons" laws, even though our Chairman fails with this time after time.
The highest priced season tickets in the division go on sale at Christmas ..The money runs out before the season ends..Chansiri says its "Cashflow" problem...course it is...he's spent it..and theres nothing coming in now.
You got fans clinging on to rumours like sodding shipwrecked sailors...Latest one on Owlstalk?....Bloke in a pub got told by a barmaid we are getting taken over next week..Oh well thank f.ook for that I can stop worrying!
I can copewith disa;ppointment , its the sodding hope that drags yer heart out...I would take League 1 and 2 to get rid of this clown, whats another few years of being treated like twats?...we've had a quarter of a century standing for it.
Owls fans have had a few days celebrating what you lot did to United,,,,,Instead of focusing on what this idiot incumbent is doing to us....Its like dancing on the tracks with yer backs to the train coming...
You’re my outside bet for relegation sadly.

It's sad to see a club like Sheff Wed in a situation like this. I can remember them playing Real Madrid in a friendly in the 1960s Ferenc Puskas was playing.
They were consistently in the top 6 during this period, Fantham was the main man after Albert Quixhall.
Subsequently their form deteriorated and they became known as the "Yo-Yo club.
This should be a warning to all.
Keep the faith my friend.

Jonny Fantham was me mums favourite, hehada barbers off West St...Seen Pele at Hillsborough in the 70's....funnily enough we were crap then as well, just taken our periodical tumble down the Leagues

It’s mad when I watched that Burnley doc and the Americans didn’t know they could be relegated. This wasn’t pre takeover this was them in the building having bought in. That’s insane man, just because American has a monopoly on their sports they must assume the rest of the world works in the same way. Agree they will love it if relegation is taken off the table. I was listening to a football podcast and they brought up that it only takes 14 of the 20 clubs to vote on new rules and Americans either own or have massive shares in 12 clubs. I’m hoping the government would block any shit like that it’s anti competition for example but you never know with these governments.
Fortunately there's no precedent in the country for top flight clubs to want change and make it happen. Have to do something crazy like form a breakaway league.

We could try and form a "breakaway" league from the bloody BOTTOM..in a couple of years...I'll let you know how we get on...Obviously you will be invited cos I don't mind you lot.... :) :)

Don't you have a reasonably old squad
Yes m8 although not as bad as under Darren Moore in L1
Didn't you get a young prospect from PSG? Is he any good?
Gassama, came on last year has pace to burn, a trick in him, but lacks consistancy/end product at times.

Let's be honest if he was any better he wouldn't be with us, PSG > SWFC is not how he would have seen his career pan out.

Milan Mandaric on local radio...saying he's coming back to "Have a word" with Chansiri......about brokering a deal.....You could not make this crap up.....
apparently..Chansiri agreed to give Mandaric £10 million IF Wednesday reached the Prem.....

Looks like he'll get about £2.50............................

In installments .
When I had my leaving do in Sheffield 1979ish, I went on stage and did a Spanish accent and pretended I was Alex Sabella and was leaving to go back to South America. One of those grab a granny nights. Nobody realized that I was taking the Mick out of Sheff U. Strange that Sheff Wed are now the Mickey Mouse club (no offence intended). He was a canny player.

A sad state of affairs.

Performance wise United have had the better of the past 25 years but Wednesday are 100% the bigger club. Not a chance they wouldn't sell out a playoff final at Wembley like their neighbours a couple of weeks back!

Aye get Danny Rohl to the Lane @wednesday1957 @Visiting owl to get some money in the coffers aka Chansiri's pocket

Apparently they chose him rather than some bloke called Maradonna.

Sheff U couldnt afford Maradona even though they were offered him for 400k. The club was in financial crisis after building the South Stand. Having been 6th in Division 1 in 1974/75 they were in Division 4 in 1981. All the young players were sold like Stainrod, Varadi, Edwards etc

Sounds like Sunderland descent but it was worse, and the same territory Wednesday could veer into now.
