Keel Crossing [opened 18.10.25] - compendium thread

What are those big brick sheds on the north side on the left just as the bridge meets the land?
Are they for the chop? Bit of an eyesore but of course no need to panic as it appears there’s a lot going on beyond both sides of the bridge to landscape it etc.

I tell ya what - we might decry the death of shipbuilding on the Wear but you can’t deny the whole place looks a lot prettier without the heavy industry, and looking to be beautified even further. WDSC!

What time in the video are they shown?

About 26 to 36 seconds in.
Maybe that is the sheepfolds stables but the buildings look a lot darker in the video than in the still shot posted above.

Are there any videos of what it looks like coming across the bridge? What's the view of the ground like?

That video is nice but really frustrating because it never quite shows that view and cuts off to show me piles of metal around the sheepfolds instead.

This is from last year but obviously the bridge has changed a lot since then. I could do another one and fly a bit lower down but I don't think I'm brave enough to fly it at the height that would replicate exactly what it would be like walking over the bridge.

I think it would be hard to tell at the moment as there's a load of boarding up on either side of the entrance to Sheepfolds where they're putting new paving down - so no clear line of site

That's perfect thanks, just what I wanted - I wanted to see where it would come out and what it was next to. Do you know if there are plans to do much with those office looking buildings on the RHS, out the front of the Sheepfolds?

@HellsBells - these pics give a good idea of the view walking over
