It's well up to standard. Nigel Blackwell should be poet laureate.
Away from that, the new Witch album is great (Zambian rock) and Cosey Fanni Tutti has made an album of dark, reflective electronica with the odd pop bit.

Read Miki Berenyi's autobiography earlier this year, Ms. Anderson seems an interesting character.

It's a really good book and very honestly written. I just finished it myself a few days ago.
A few weeks ago Death and Vanilla (from Malmo) released a score for "Oh Whistle, and I'll Come To You" performed live. They are performing it at Cobalt Studios (Newcastle) in October.
Worth hearing it if you like the any music from the Ghostbox label, although these are on Fire Records.

The Colin Miller album is rather good
I know nothing about him but based on the name he sounds interesting.

Yeah its harrowing to read about her upbringing. It's about halfway in to the book before she gets on to Lush.

Not sure any of them are Haim-like. Lukas Nelson and Kelsey Waldon are alt-country type stuff, SG Goodman is too but has more of an indie-rock influence. Tropical Fuckstorm are psych rock.

That Steve Queralt album is really good, very reminiscent of Mogwai or Slowdive imo. An album of the year contender.

I've really enjoyed the newest series of Jools Holland (if anyone still watches). I watched Franz Ferdinand on it a few nights ago and enjoyed their performance so I revisited the album from January. I didn't really like it at the time but I do now.
Cameron Winter was excellent on it. I've tried his album probably half a dozen times and it hasn't really grabbed me but it was a great perfomance.
Other hightlights have been Wunderhorse (never listened to them before), Self Esteem, Wolf Alice, and Pulp.

I find Winter to be appalling live.
The most self indulgent stuff ever. I love the record though.
