SOL expansion

There’s still blocks they haven’t released yet. Someone posted a tracker t’other day.
The ones not released are reserved for match by match purchase and its pretty much just a few blocks up the pc
Well yes, because most of the good seats are already taken by people who’ve renewed.

You can’t expect to buy a ST now we’re back in the PL and get one on the halfway line.
So its not dead easy then is it

We need to expand the stadium...if we have any ambitions to be a club competing in the top half of the premier league and eventually europe then our ground needs to be bigger with more corporate/hospitality. Those saying we wouldn't fill it were probably saying the same when we moved from Roker Park and when the north stand was extended. The potential at SAFC is huge....build it and they will come :)

Average attendance 40.7k, 8.3k below capacity.

Like I said, our capacity isn’t 49000. We were sold out against Coventry at 46500. 46000 against Bradford. 46000 against Luton in play offs. 45000 against Newcastle.

I disagree that we need more seats (corporate fair enough) but also disagree we’ve got 10k empty every game, it’s closer to 5k really.

There’s 49000 seats, or thereabouts, in the stadium. Whilst they may not be made available for sale and therefore our capacity is reduced, they’re still there.

If we’re short of seats, just stop being so anal with wanting 3 nautical miles between home and away fans.

The capacity is still 49k though? We just chose to give up 2.5k since we never sold them anyway for segregation reasons. If you want the seats back, then sort out the segregation issues ie. move the away fans.

He's just being his usual negative club bashing self. He's also either ignoring or more than likely oblivious to the fact the away fans don't always sell out in the Championship but we can't sell their sections right next to them.

You can’t sell seats that ain’t available and it isn’t 49k don’t think it’s been that for a while now given we can’t sell the front rows of the away end and moving of the media. You can’t sell what we’re not allowed too I would say we’ve been close to capacity given segregated area a few times in the past few years especially the playoffs.

All probably down to the health and safety stuff along with access for the away fans given there's still knackers out there that like to cause trouble at matches. There's no way they'd put them back in the South Stand like they originally were as it would mean more mixing between supporters.

They did, and they didn't.
They did for two season then the rest is history as we started the yo yo ing and then ended up in league wan for four years. If we’d had kicked on those first two seasons it was open our last 15 year or so would’ve been very different m. To get relegated was it a season or two after the extension did wonders for attendances 😂
