SoL To Undergo Multi-Million-Pound Investment Programme

See theyve already started the re-siting of the media hub (small white building outside the SW corner).....diggers and ground been dug up, a new ones getting put further out into the car park area
They need to think about the massive jam of people trying to get into the SW corner when those SKY trucks are fenced off.. no need to bring the fencing so close to the turnstiles.. was a nightmare at times last season.

Exactly. Move the brick walls out double the depth where they are (kind of where the outer metalwork is vertical before it angles down). The supporting steel obviously stays where they are. It’s a relatively easy thing to do.

couldn’t do it in the north or west, but east and south would be a no brainer

the cheaper alternative is to put up a perimeter wall where you have the turnstiles and just have an area between that and open the exit gates in the stadium for easy flow inside and out. Solves the smoking problem as well
Absolutely… the concourse pressure when the ground is full is unhealthy …. Trying to get a drink, getting into the overcrowded loos is a trial. The extra catering income would pay for the works over time.

That’s a bugbear of mine too. Our turnstiles are in the NW corner and it takes ages to get in there at the best of times. When you have people pushing through the queues because there isn’t room to go behind them (or the lazy bastards who just cut the corner off and take the quickest route) it makes it a bloody nightmare to get in.

Pie in the sky stuff, but if they do actually do any work on the stadium, I’d love them to give it a bit of a face lift and add some kind of light feature so it so that it lives up to its name. Maybe like the Allianz or something. It seems like lighting technology have come on a lot in the last decade, so it would be good to do something innovative to take advantage of the new technology in LEDs. They could bring it through to the inside and the concourses too.

We getting new scoreboards? The one at the North stands is more pixelated than a Sunlun Echo CRIME picture.

Those were the days….

In the retro age that would be class on the scoreboard when we get a corner, the younguns would be like what the fucks that!

Does anyone know if they are actually adding the "Jimmy Montgomery Stand" lettering along the West Stand roof, or was that just part of the PR for the announcement?

You’d think so, I agree it’s needed and part of me thinks they’ll leave it, but also it’s the perfect time to do it, we have some spending money, and the VAR decisions would need to be clear on a widescreen I would think. Our ones are getting on now, but bar the portsmouth game, they still get the job done.

They’d also have needed to have got it ordered etc by now as it’s too short notice to have the old ones taken out, the new ones ordered in, put together, hung and wired up in time I would think. Graphics would need to have been prepared too. No clue if EPL demand certain ones or anything to display the right cues so I think they’ll be left another season.

Well we still have clubs without any kind of video score board like Manchester United and Liverpool, so I guess it's not a massive requirement

Do Liverpool have big screens at Anfield and Man U at Old Trafford?

Is more rail seating going in this season?

You would think so especially when the had it up on the big screens but on the other hand they havent done it with the South stand (roker end)
