Can't think of a slam final where someone has lost from 3 consecutive championship points (nobody bring up 2019....)If Sinner loses this match from the position he was in ten minutes ago I'm genuinely struggling to remember the last time I'll have seen something that surprising in tennis.
Think he probably gets it done in the breaker but hoping for a fifth set. Not fussed at all on who wins but haway lets have some fun and go for an hour longer.
and barring serious injury, we should have another 10 years of this battle between these two. I didn't think we would see the levels of the big 3 again but crikey, I think we willI've kind of fell out of Tennis a bit since the end of the big 4, but heard really good things about both Alcaraz and Sinner.
Watched the last couple of sets and jesus christ these are brilliant. What a game it's shaped into!
Indeed, seems ages ago since he had those 3 points to win the title. Can't think of a slam final where someone has lost from 3 consecutive championship points (nobody bring up 2019....)
Think fatigue is setting in for Sinner, his 1st serve has gone missing for the last 20 minutes, maybe lacking a little match toughness from the ban but then he's never won a match over 4 hours and Alcaraz has an insane 12-1 record for 5 sets and tends to get better the longer matches go.some comeback this
Are there any others that look like they could seriously challenge these 2 consistently in the future? As I say I don't know much right now.and barring serious injury, we should have another 10 years of this battle between these two. Draper is improving but not even close to these two.Are there any others that look like they could seriously challenge these 2 consistently in the future? As I say I don't know much right now.
I've heard Drapers name mentioned a few times these last couple of weeks and the last time I paid any attention, I think there was a Russian guy called Medvedev or something similar but that's all I know.
Musetti has improved massively, but he can only compete for 3 sets.Nobody is close to these guys.
Fonseca might join the party (doubt it) in the future but these two, especially Alcaraz, are a step above.
psychologically losing those 3 match points must play a part.Think fatigue is setting in for Sinner, his 1st serve has gone missing for the last 20 minutes, maybe lacking a little match toughness from the ban but then he's never won a match over 4 hours and Alcaraz has an insane 12-1 record for 5 sets and tends to get better the longer matches go.
Think Alcaraz is gonna get this set 6-2 and have produced arguably the greatest comeback in a slam final (nadals against Medvedev was something, as was Sinners against Medvedev, but Sinner had championship points here)
She was crying when he failed to serve it out toopsychologically losing those 3 match points must play a part.
his mam was crying at the thought of his victory
