Jordan Henderson (signed for Brentford)

Would he play for a wage that we could afford or will he want close to his alleged £100k pw at Ajax.

That's when you would see how much a player wants to play for his home town club.
Would be a great signing but no way should we be paying a high weekly wage greater than others will be offered.
At his age we have a lot other than money to offer him.
Playing again for his club, back into the Prem and possibly some future coaching role.

I don’t know JH but I’m almost certain wages won’t be an issue and he’d take less from us than any other team he signed for at this stage of his career.

If he wants to come back he won’t let it fail due to wages.

Gotta be honest, my gut is that this just doesn't happen.
Hope it does, but I just have that feeling that this isnt a 'KS signing'

We'll see

I’d be delighted if Henderson came back. Hope it happens soon.
I also think he'd be very highly motivated to help the Safc cause. We will also likely be in a low block week in week out too which probably suits his attributes. His experience gained from 500 + appearances at the highest level of domestic and international football could be massive for us. Expect Regis would love working with him.

Be happy if we get in him, even if he only ended up playing 10-15 games he'll be worth having around.
Is there risk of a bit of hypocrisy with all the Saudi grief that we give the Mags if he signs? One person playing in Saudi doesn't equate to a whole country backing a team but people are bound to bring it up

Says a lot about them using pure whataboutry with it tbh.

Exactly. I’m torn regarding the Saudi thing but, as a footballer and for what we’ll be facing next season, it makes perfect sense
He didn't look out of place in terms of sharpness, pace or stamina. He's a model pro with vast experience and leadership. Anyone who is against the move for footballing reasons hasn't got the first clue about the sport.

I think we are more obsessed about it than any mag.
He’s an individual who has worked in Saudi, that he was hypocritical on issues is his problem to live with not ours and not the clubs, it had nothing to do with us.
How anyone sees our fans as being hypocritical is beyond me.
1. SAFC was not involved at all.
2. SAFC took no money
3. SAFC are not politically influenced by a state

We would be welcoming home the most successful Mackem probably in football history. He’s one of us, there’s no hypocrisy on our part.

Agree but I recall quite a lot of people on here pretty much disowned him when he moved to Saudi, but now we're back in the Prem he seems to be welcome again haha
I didn't disown him. I disagreed with his decision purely as a very wealthy individual he didn't need the money and let's face it that's all Saudi offers.

It's validating a terrible regime but it's only one individual at the end of he day. He sharp saw the error of his ways so that's a plus point.
I'm against the move for footballing reasons.
😂
