Northern trains

I got it back down here one game and it wasn’t too bad! It’s quicker than the train iirc.

Only downside is you then have to travel on from Middlesbrough
Aye that’s it as well mate. It’s going to be late enough getting home and then being up at 6 with a 4 year old and 3 month old without making it any later for me like.

One spare seat leaving sunderland at 10:30/11:30 depending on the game heading back to Stockton. Sure we can chuck the driver an extra few quid for a stop off somewhere on the way if it’s any good to anyone? £12.50 each. Let me know if it’s any good to anyone

Teesside is to receive £1bn towards improving its transport network, Chancellor Rachel Reeves has announced.

Among the projects earmarked for the funds is a new platform three at Middlesbrough train station to increase the number of services.

Isn’t Northerns issue that they don’t have any more trains to run? I can’t see how having another platform will increase services if they don’t have more trains?

Sunderland needs upgrading along with Durham Coast Line to increase capacity and then a regular service (TPE?) to Liverpool or Manchester airport to give decent access to York, Leeds etc.

Someone told me that getting onto a north bound train at Seaham is harder since Horden was opened. Definitely need more rolling stock.

Think the service is only one an hour which is pathetic especially on Saturdays when there are home games.

Yeah, the trains usually were full by the time they go to seaham, now it happens a stop earlier.

Hopefully Grand Central get the go ahead to stop at seaham to make it easier for those based there to get to the town on a matchday.

The service northern offers passengers at Horden and Seaham on a matchday is a disgrace. Hardly anyone will pay for a ticket and I don’t blame them.

It’ll be to accommodate services going the other way. Transpennine, and I think LNER run trains from there now.
