Sam Fender

His early stuff was decent, however I think he’s found his target audience.

Fat bald mags that wear replica tops everyday and Geordie shore type lasses. His latest music is very bland and about as edgy as the Killers or Coldplay.

Ultimately, it’s about making money and Fender has found an audience he can milk for years to come.

Just look at the gimmick which Kneecap have adopted. Although they have gotten themselves in bother recently, they will know it plays well with elements in Belfast and Glasgow.

Steve Harris of Iron Maiden had West Ham badges on his basses long before Oasis rocked up.

Lindisfarne wore mag tops.

Rod was never shy about his love of Celtic.

Phil Lynott wore Man Utd shirts and wrote a song about George Best.
Elton John maybe the best example

And both Mensi and Leatherface wore Sunderland tops on stage.

Cockney Rejects and West Ham

There are probably loads tbh

The Mag takeover couldn't have come at a better time for Fender to hop on and ride the wave.

Grok says Mayenda would knack him:

Haha, Eliezer Mayenda vs. Sam Fender in a hypothetical RKO showdown? Let’s break it down!
Eliezer Mayenda: A 20-year-old professional footballer for Sunderland AFC, 6’1”, and built for speed and strength as a striker. He’s likely got the edge in athleticism, endurance, and raw power. If he’s landing an RKO, it’s coming with some serious force.
Sam Fender: A 31-year-old singer-songwriter from North Shields, probably not hitting the gym like a pro athlete. He’s got passion and stage presence, but unless he’s been secretly training in the ring, he’s likely no match for Mayenda’s physicality.
My money’s on Mayenda—his fitness and youth give him the upper hand in a scrap, real or staged. Fender might try to charm his way out with a guitar riff, but I don’t see him dodging an RKO!

I took my youngest to the mag fest at SJP a few years ago, and it was exactly that- b&w tops everywhere.
The night was a moderate success though, Inhaler were support band (excellent), i left a sunlun sticker up high in the toilets, and the bairn (showing zero shame) was tongue sarneying with this almost middle aged wife- her pals thought it was hilarious that he was pashing on in front of his da

Kneecap are total shite mate , but I agree with Sam fender - early stuff was quite good but recent stuff a bit meh

I wouldn’t go to a Sam Fender gig as I think he’s a massive bellend and his gigs are massive mag wankfests. Not for me in the slightest.

A wife beater who lost his full life in doing so and sought professional help to change his life around. Totally different scenarios but like I’ve said in previous posts it’s not excusable at all 👍

You must hate the Beatles, pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, led zap etc too
But fine if it’s the bloke you seen? Seems to be plenty of sympathy for him from you. You basically wouldn’t be able to listen to music if you don’t listen to people who use drugs.
And this

His music is okay, modern music rarely uses guitars and drums these days so it makes a change.

Why he has to pander to the mags football support and become a professional Geordie is behind me, he didn’t need to do that.

Elton was famous for being Watford chairman.
