Sam Fender

Think he has been in but mainly the band.
Apparently they use or did use a recording studio nearby and liked it in there, buskers night on a Weds
Think they also know Michael's daughter... (fk knows why i drink there cause you can't like the place for the beer 🤢)

Did Ed Sheeran go on with the Ipswich fans the way Fender does with that lot up the road? Seems odd if he upset all the Norwich fans. Dont understand anybody or any business dragging football rivalries into something where money is concerned. Banter yes but sure some people would take it to Israelis- Palestinians level.

There’s a lass at graft who went to his gig at St James’ a few year back, she admitted she wasn’t into his music but wanted to go because ‘it’ll be a mint day in the toon’

She was even asking if she could borrow a mag top to wear for it. Pretty much a lot of his fanbase is like this.
It’s clever by him or whoever manages him to use the football side for more publicity, other big music stars in the past had the talent to have a worldwide audience so didn’t need to do that

Tbf the proffesional Jawdee angle has helped others with limited ability in their profession.

Lewis Ritson was promoted beyond his level as a boxer playing the Geordie card,

Was Chris Dobey really more deserving of a PDC Premier league spot ahead of say Dave Chisnall?

Exactly, I noticed more and more in boxing using the football rivalry to sell more tickets also in darts and it’s a smart if not cynical ploy to milk as much money from gullible ppl

I'm sure there was none of this music football crossover shite until the Gallaghers rocked up with nothing more interesting to say. Who did Bowie support again? Your musicians lads, the good ones transcend nationalities or even genders never mind football allegiances. Surely you've got more interesting stuff to share with the world?

even the gallaghers / man city / mancunians were nothing like this

His early stuff was decent, however I think he’s found his target audience.

Fat bald mags that wear replica tops everyday and Geordie shore type lasses. His latest music is very bland and about as edgy as the Killers or Coldplay.
Pretty much this. I don't mind some of his earlier songs, but that People Watching is like if you asked AI to generate a new Sam Fender single - just a soulless mish mash of previous stuff. I have no problem listening to aforementioned earlier material, but it's limited to Spotify as I have no wish to support him financially since he's made everything so mag-centric. His St James gigs have become his equivalent of Carl Froch at Wembley.

Don't mind some of his songs and they can be quite catchy, not fussed if he's a mag or has mag sympathies because I am 47 and grown up(most of the time) and can put football rivalries to one side. Mind I wouldn't go to a gig of his in the North East area
The bairn loves him but we couldn't get tickets for the arena tour here for her so ended up going to see him in Berlin in March, unfortunately it was the day the Mags won the cup....jesus...Mind, some of the scum there still found the time to sing about that Coventry player who'd banged in a hat trick against us the day before....bless them.

Was he any good live?

THey're not obsessed though :D

Steve Harris of Iron Maiden had West Ham badges on his basses long before Oasis rocked up.

Lindisfarne wore mag tops.

Rod was never shy about his love of Celtic.

Phil Lynott wore Man Utd shirts and wrote a song about George Best.
