Wrong. I posted it on 28th August. That’s complete bollocks like. When you posted that, 5th Aug, we hadn’t played the first match of the season. There’s a thread on here entitled “Expect a tough start to the season”. At that point we had played Mayenda up front who’d done nothing, in fact, couldn’t get in the Hibs team the previous year & hadn’t signed Isidor yet. Even when we did sign isidor, people were saying he was a left winger & we hadn’t signed a striker, yet again.
Our manager was an unknown fella with little experience, but had just recorded a relegation. This was after what appeared to be our long term no.1 target in Will Still decided to fuck us off at the 11th hour.
Oh aye, we were on the verge of selling Jack Clarke too. Easily our best & most influential player.
Now, the point you make about the season before, again, bollocks. After qualifying for the play offs by the skin of our teeth the year before that, the ambitions were to just there again. By December it wasn’t going well & we sacked Mowbray. That was to try & keep the season & a play off challenge alive. It appears the board didn’t have a back up plan & most had given up once we realised it was Beale. The board actually gave up when they sacked him & decided not to appoint a new manager.
How you can even try & say anyone was going on like we’d already been promoted is pure fantasy.

You'd won the first 3 games of the season at that stage, and we'd won 1, drawn 1 and lost 1, hence why many on here were taking the piss.
The season before you'd lost the first 2 games and then went on a run, which had you placed well above Boro in the table. Many were taking the piss and I'd made the point that it was still early into the season and advised posters on here not to get carried away. In the end you finished 16th.
So again, going back to my post you were referring to, I was just responding to the pisstaking posts by reminding people that you'd got carried away the season before after making a strong start and it had backfired. It felt foolish at that time to be getting carried away but as I've said, the season just gone it became obvious as the season progressed that you were genuine promotion contenders this time around.
