Away fans downstairs?

Which can be overridden if the police/SAG insist otherwise. That's how the Mags manage it. If NP say the away fans have to stay upstairs, that's that.

Time for the club to make a small investment ensuring the North Upper is the safest place for away fans. God knows what, nets? I dunno but anything where we can say we have X and Y in place in the NU but nowhere else so NU is safest.

There hasn't been any issues of late though, nothing much been reported that is. I can't see them installing nets as it would interfere with people's view.

Didn't seem to affect it against Coventry.
Exactly.
It's not where the away fans are, it's the importance of the game and how we are playing that affects the atmosphere.
If we are losing 2-0 at home to Wigan the atmosphere would be dead even if the away fans are downstairs. On the other hand if we are beating Man City 2-0 (😁) then the atmosphere will be fantastic even if the away fans are up top.

That was then. NP have reported a 35% drop in trouble since they were moved. And the South Stand has been totally redesigned in the process.
Also the away coach park is now at the north end of ground too, infrastructure is now designed on them being north of the stadium.

There hopefully should be no/little safety concerns giving the away fans 3k in the premier. Most if not all clubs season tickets sell out and fans don't want to lose them if they were identified as being knobs.

Oh aye i agree but its more so the club have a ready made argument against moving them. I cant think of anything they could do though to rubber stamp it so maybe im pissing in the wind.

Why nor man, get the mags downstairs again. Missed those days of them urging their team on and their players celebrating with their fans..... got a glimpse of it in the cup game. Still, even if it means its the Mags are singing more, it's still a better atmosphere iirc.

Still makes me feel ill thinking about it.

Them getting prime seats behind the goal here and us being stuck 7 tiers up at their shit hole used to completely piss me off. No idea why anyone would want to go back to that.

It was crap. Half the time was about 500 of them sitting plonked surrounded by an empty south stand. A few “who are ya” back and forth doesnt make it worthwhile. As seen for cov, the atmosphere will boom when them on the pitch deliver. Rearranging the furniture makes no odds.
