Away fans downstairs?

We don't need god to help us, we can just move them down to the lower bowl so A. We can hear them as sound doesn't travel down well, and B. Gives our rowdy section someone to chant back and forth with, which in turns often encourages the quieter sections to join in.

Otherwise we are relying on what happens on the pitch to give us something to chant about, that could be few and far between depending how well we perform.
As previously mentioned though, with sheepfolds, I can only see the away end staying in the north end of the ground, be it upstairs or down

And the new bridge.

A huge proportion of our fans will now be approaching the stadium on foot through that route. The away fans will never ever be relocated back to the South stand and I don't understand why any of our fans think they will or would want them to be.

The new bridge alone kills the idea stone dead, unless people want the new bridge blocked for access to Sunderland fans either side of every match while the plod get the away fans in and out?
The sec might be an option, especially with the metro/main train station route ending up there

North East corner would probably be out because of the new ticket office, west stand and north stand lower have restaurant seats and corporate, south stand is the home end, only place I think left is the east stand toward the south east corner same as how Boro have done theirs.

To be fair though the atmosphere was class in the premier concourse on Saturday, and if the mags don’t need to move the away fans then we can use the same excuse

Yesterday proved that away fans being downstairs to ‘improve atmosphere’ has no common ground. We should be responsible for the atmosphere regardless of where away fans are housed. Keep them out the way upstairs

The current away end at the SOL is a superb view with good facilities.

There should be zero issue from an away fans POV.

Why any Sunderland fan would want away fans moved downstairs is beyond me.

Anyone still support this nonsense?

It was always a weird one, this, as to why so many of our fans (or at least so many on here) wanted large numbers of fellow SAFC fans to be evicted from their seats, which they will have had for years, to give away fans a better view, on the basis that they could sing songs at them in the name of 'atmosphere'. Turns out atmosphere is created by what is going on on the pitch. Who would have ever guessed?
