Jobe Bellingham - post SAFC compendium

It does seem certain he'll go, but it is a shame how much players careers are managed. I'd fully accept it if we stayed in the championship, he's not really got anything to prove there, and I doubt another season would benefit him.

But you can tell that the lad loves being here. He seems to love his teammates, he was absolutely overcome with emotion after Coventry, then again after Sheffield United. Earlier in the season when he scored the winner at Swansea was the same. We're in a league that will pit players against some of the best in the world. A relegation would hardly harm him because you're expected to struggle as the play off winners. He's still young enough that he doesn't need to jump to a CL side straight away. Could stay here and give it a go with us, on an improved, premier league, contract. Seems such a shame to lose him and, whilst I'm not suggesting he'd beg to stay, he really doesn't look like someone who is desperate to go either

plus there’ll likely be an agreement that he goes to the club of his choosing that are willing to meet the price, so a bidding war is unlikely.

It’s an unusual situation, but ultimately if we hadn’t agreed to certain conditions we probably wouldn’t have got him in the first place.
The two brothers careers have been carefully managed by their family and Jobe signing that contract last season would be on the families terms. Anyone's thinking there will be a bidding war between the 3 German clubs are going to be sadly disappointed.

I just worry it’s as low as £20m which will be a kick in the teeth for us.

Being in Germany 48 hours after promotion would kinda go against that thinking mind.

He does clearly enjoy being at the club but his brother is the extradinaire at telling fans what they want to hear and plays up to the cameras and gets fans buying into him.

I think deep down jobe will have his business head on tbh.

has it been confirmed anywhere that he's away or is it just folk being shitehawks and spreading rumours?
if he goes then good luck to the lad.
If he's talking to three teams in the top flight of the Bundesliga I think we can pretty much say goodbye to the lad.

This. Said ages ago that when he leaves it will be on favourable terms for Jobe, the Bellingham brand and not Sunderland AFC unfortunately.

I think both Jobe and his management realise that he’s not yet ready to shine in the Premiership, especially in a team that’s likely to struggle. It’s the sound move for his career to go to a decent club in a weaker league.

He’s a young lad with the world at his feet. I think he was leaving regardless, and he’ll be happy to go on that absolute high.

I’d love him to stay, but can’t see it happening. A move to Germany fighting at the top end of the table does make sense unfortunately. A relegation scrap is not good for brand Bellingham.

The Premiership bit remains to be seen, one or two players will step up you do not expect, we will see

The bit about Saturday is a lazy observation with no context.
It was the substitution of Hamer the best player in the division added to us putting on more attacking players to exploit the gaps this created which allowed us to overrun a very tired Sheffield team.

Dan Neil was physically spent after running himself into ground. Yes his substitution was part of the equation that changed the game but let’s not have an unbalanced view of any player on Saturday they were all hero’s.

Neil looked tense throughout and it was reflected in his play but he still left everything on the pitch and was a massive part of the rearguard and getting to the point likes of Hamer had nothing left.
There were a number of players like that in 1973 final, and he is no less of a hero
If you can't see how bad Neil was on Saturday then there is no hope for you, he was utter shit.

Looks certain he’s back in Germany for talks.

Like his brother, the Bellingham’s will do what’s best for his career and development. The lads going to the very top, fair play for him giving us another year.

It’s a real shame if he goes because we need his size and physicality. If he does go.. it’s another player we need .. could be nearly talking a full team needed.

I wish him well I just hope the fee is closer to £30m than £20m but with German clubs all interested I fear it will be closer to £20m.

source?
tbh, until things are official i take no notice of the rumourmill, sky are the worst for it.
like i said before good luck to the lad.
I got told last week by someone who works at the club that there was a flight to Germany booked this week for Jobe.
I thought it was to speak to Dortmund but obviously it's for Frankfurt. Apparently one of BD's lot flew over here yesterday for talks with the lad.
I'd love him to stay but it looks very unlikely.
