Jordan Henderson (signed for Brentford)

Henderson never ever had a big time attitude
Maybe poor phrasing, but certainly a different energy to what the squad has now. What do you want from a seasoned pro? Cool headedness, big game experience, ability to lead. I just don’t see that as being departments we are lacking in and bringing in someone like that is more likely to upset the apple cart. IMO.

Couldn’t disagree more to be fair.
We are crying out for premier league experience, a calmness and control in the middle of the pitch. Hendo is a leader, a tremendous footballer (wasn’t he called up to the England squad again under Tuchel, or did I imagine it?) and he knows the club inside out. I think the players would absolutely love to have him around.

He only played 1800 minutes for Ajax in the Eredivisie this season. That's 20 games.
He played 3239 mins for them out of a possible 4050 mins in games he featured in this season(45).

So he played the equivalent of 36 games this season and captained in most of them. Not really sure what point your making.

He can fuck off. As can anyone who takes Saudi blood money. If you think otherwise, you’ve got some seriously inconsistent morals.

Why not apply the model to the coaching staff. His role should be within the coaching team. We’ve already got Proctor why not Henderson for his class and experience. Let him learn his coaching with us and build on that for the future.

Don't know if he's food enough for the PL tbh, maybe if he's on low enough wages a 1 year deal could work.

Doesn't forgive him going for blood money like.

The point was that he's played about 58% of their league minutes.

What you've done, is ignore the games in which he didn't play, while adding up all the minutes he played of the games that he played any part in -
which is a strange about-turn. All that would demonstrate, is that when he plays he usually starts.

He missed 2 games due to injury and suspension. What's he supposed to do if he can't be selected, they also lost 2 games when he was on the bench only lost 4 all season in the league

Then in their European games which you want to weirdly discount(when they had 18 matches in that). He missed 2 via injury and one via suspension. So played 89% of the minutes in games he was selectable in.

Then he the cup he played 87% of minutes.

This all probably moot and a waste of time as he's not signing.

Just don't really get the point your making, the guy was selectable in 49 games out of 54 and played 73% of available minutes in those games. Pretty decent for a 34 year old I'd say.

Why wasn't he selectable in the 35% of league minutes missed?

I'm not particularly for or against his signing. I'd have reservations though. He's played at a poor level for 2 years, came out with ridiculous bull5hit in order to take a load of blood money, and then denied that was the reason he went.

Hes 35 next month, will be on hefty wages, and we don't really know how he'd hold up in the PL now, coming out of semi-retirement. He might be a great signing and influence back at his boyhood club though, I cam see the appeal. I could also say that he's just captained Ajax to an absolute collapse, in which they crumbled and gifted the title to PSV, after giving up a 10 point lead.

Would be a vastly experienced player in a young team, great personality, and a very good player.

Add to that he loves the club and knows the entire area, a no brainer yes.

No for me, keep with what we’ve been doing rather then going back to the days of signing players at the wrong end of their career.
As RLB might say " The dynamic has changed and we need an interim plan to take us to safety in our first Premier season. We need this adjustment to our model as we are one year early. "
