I remember you as one of the lads who saves up and spends $$$ on coming over here which I find bemusing as I’m just not into the parks much but no judgement - each to their own and of course younguns are gonna love them. We have Busch Gardens 30 minutes from us and that’s OK. My favourite of the lot was Discovery Cove. They limit the number of people allowed in each day so it’s a lot more calm than the rat race of Magic Kingdom etc.

I like the beaches me so I think it’s madness that Brits charge over here and spend days and days sweating in queues at the parks and don’t even bother coming over to the beaches. We got married on Clearwater Beach which is usually voted by Tripadvisor as the best beach in the country. 90 minutes from Disney!
BTW forgot to add that while I sorta understand people not wanting to come to America because Trump is an arsehole or not wanting to come to Florida cos DeSantis is an arsehole - everyone has the right to spend their money wherever they want but having arseholes in charge wouldn’t put me off wanting to visit somewhere if I liked the place. I’ve been to Mexico countless times completely oblivious to who was president or what the status of the drug cartels was. Those boycotting America - have you been to Hungary ever? China? India? They’ve all had some real arseholes in charge, just maybe not as big or as loud an arsehole as Trump or DeSantis.

My folks usually have a beach day in their annual visit.
But for me, there's beaches everywhere. We travelled to Orlando for the parks, for the kids.

Agree with this. We went on Miami beach once and Daytona once, but don't tend to bother as if you want a beach holiday there's a million other places closer to home.

I do love Miami like. Wouldn’t go with kids mind. Don’t think they couldn’t hack the 48 hour space parties. 😂

Daughters first time on guardians tonight. She’s full GoPro rigged up. I’ve a feeling it’ll be traumatising for the 8’year old. 😂
Update : GoPro wasn’t allowed. Stopped all recording on the ride.

Is that the Tower of Terror re-skin Guardians ride?

Did it in California. Canny theming but not a patch on the original.

Disney are buggered mind. No hits for years, Star Wars is dead, Marvel's going the same way and nobody's interested in their live action remakes. You can see the parks being very quiet before too long because they've got nothing new to create rides with. Their last big thing was Encanto, that's getting into the parks now. What's next?

ToT was reskinned to something Marvel in California Disneyland, not WDW in Orlando.
Guardians is in the building that Ellen's Energy AirCon-Sleepland was in I think

Aye, it was Guardians and I was wondering whether they'd done the same on the east coast.

Youngest daughter wouldn't go anywhere near ToT during the day but decided she wanted to go when it was dark.....

True, but they'll have been expecting Galaxy's Edge and Avengers Campus (both very good even though Galaxy's Edge is in the wrong Star Wars time period) to tide them over until the next big expansions, and because both those franchises have been killed there's a big gap.

There was the Star Wars hotel catastrophe as well.

The last film trilogy was absolute turd, but some of the TV shows are good. Especially Andor.

They are MASSIVELY over-doing it though. Just like we all said they would. No more than one show per year was the absolute limit, whereas they seem to have about 4 on the go at any time. Totally rubbed all the "special" off it.

They announce plenty, but not very much seems to be getting made. There hasn't been a film for six years now and the only one we know is coming for definite is the Mandalorian movie which has already run out of steam on TV (first two seasons were great).

The Rey movie has been quietly shelved after the director couldn't keep her mouth shut about her 'activism'.
