Elland road upgrade

We might be able to charge higher if we had hundreds of thousands more people on the doorstep as our pool of potential support. And in what world is £32-£36 ‘cheap’?
Leeds fans were paying £30 for league 1 football - 15 years ago.

People on here criticise the attendances during the Ken Bates years

Just imagine if the roles were reversed - be honest now.

Here we are 15 years later, a play off semi final that is struggling to sell, and you don't think that is "cheap"?

1) you are a Leeds fan
2) why would they get 50-60k when they have never managed 40k. They won’t get West Ham tourist fans
3) why build a big ground when you know when you go on a bad run you drop to 22-25k
4) not top 6. Top 12 yes. Have a look at historical crowds. Any club ( forest, boro, Leicester, Brighton, Stoke ) can get a few years sell outs when things are going well.
But that includes the froth fans , who disappear as quick as they arrive.
And I have put your bait up already on post 376 , and packed away Geldered on 363 , without barely raising an eyebrow. So I will wander off into the sunset now.
The top crowd at Leeds this season and last season was v Sunderland. @Peace and @Gelderd are desperate to be relevant but their claims about their 'huge fanbase' aren't justified as is indicated by their failure to continually sell out a 37000ish capacity to an alleged huge fanbase over the last two seasons.

Rightly so, because they were embarrassingly shit for a so called big club situated in one of the biggest cities in the country with dozens of surrounding towns in Yorkshire on your doorstep. Own it. Bates left in 2013 did he not? Your average crowd in 2015/16 despite being a second tier team was 21k odd, guessing that was somebody else’s fault?

Bates - GFH - Massimo Cellino.

Take your pick.

Your crowds would have been utterly decimated at those prices - you know it too.

Dread to think what yours would’ve been then if you had hundreds of thousands of people less than you do on your doorstep, be lucky to break 10k.

We sell out. If other teams bring 500, capacity isn't going to be reached. When was the last time Sunderland sold out for just one league game? We have a buy back for those who can't make it such is the demand. Our gates are accurate as they count people attending. Yours are made up based on tickets sold. Attendances are (trick is in the word) people attending, not red seats or seagulls.

I don't like Leeds but let's face facts, these days they have a bigger fanbase than Sunderland. If Leeds had a 50k stadium right now they'd fill it every week. Probably would sell 60k next season in the prem if capacity allowed.

Sunderland have very good support and its no disrespect to safc but Leeds have a fanbase that is top 5 or 6 in the country, that's the truth of the matter.
Aww not this prick again

Who are you supporting this time Mr Dutch Sunderland fan? Back to Leeds again I take it.

Your fanbase deserted your club for 15 years, don’t try and rewrite history. Fact is, you only turned back up for Bielsa.
Stop being so stupid.
Ironic, firestick Leeds fan

Reel him in. What was your top gate? Clubs must report tickets sold as the official attendance. Leeds biggest gate is still v Sunderland and , yes, I was there this season, last season and in 1967. I sat just above the players tunnel this season and there were empty seats in the home section next to us and in the sold out Sunderland section. That's football. If Leeds planned development goes ahead I won't be interested ine how many tickets you sell so I can't understand your desperate need to tell how many you could sell?
Exactly why are you so desperate to compare Leeds to Sunderland? How many message boards of other clubs do you post on? Two simple questions. If you answer them sensibly I'll continue to read your posts. You might not smell of Bisto but you'd certainly fit in with them.

Massive Leeds 19th in all time top flight table
Sunderland 10th also 86 seasons to Leeds 53 seasons

Really they aren’t even the biggest club in Yorkshire Sheff Weds are

Many sell outs between 2005 and 2017? Didn’t think so not with 22k averages

You're talking as if no other clubs attendances fall with a lack of on-field and off-field effort and success.

When is suits I'm sure you're ok with fans voting with their feet though.

Who’s struggling to sell it, shit for brains?

Last seasons biggest attendance was V Leicester.
The second biggest attendance was V Boro.

Please stop talking shit.

My apologies for season 2023/24. You still haven't answered two very simple questions. Your obsession with Sunderland is very strange. Your biggest ever gate 1967 v Sunderland. Look at recordings of 1973. Wembley was awash with red and white. I think you are a wum - and a very poor one. You probably support via fire stick. As you can't answer two very simple questions (haven't got the bottle) I think it's time to ignore your posts. To put things into perspective, If our ground was as small as Elland Road our SC sales would sell out the ground so we would be in the same position as Leeds. Be careful what you wish for, the PL may be your undoing.

Fickle lot embarrassing averages for a so called “Massive Club”

Which you aren’t like really aren’t

Ok

You've been given answers and you still won't accept them.

Any football club. Any, would see their attendances drop if their owners started asset stripping in the third tier over a number of years.

What's weird is Sunderland' attendances this season when you've been challenging! Don't get me started on how quick your stadium empties on a match day. It's cringeworthy.

There are a lot of Sunderland fans that seem very triggered over Leeds United.

That isn't true mate, Of cours they have to report the amount of tickets sold for tax reasons etc. But some clubs Spurs for example report the actual matchday attendance the likes of Arsenal and West Ham United for examples use tickets sold as their official matchday attendance figures which scews the facts.

At various times over time both West Ham and Arsenal have had multiple attendances in the mid 40ks but they report the tickets sold as their official attendance so they are both being economical with the truth and most other clubs do exactly the same by the way.
Looks to me that Sunderland won more trophies and bigger attendances…….how do you define bigger club ?
Maybe because their fans are deluded and have big mouths, Sunderland clearly have a better history than Leeds United and Sunderland are ahead in all time average attendance table.

With no disrespect intended Sunderland is a financially challenged area compared to Leeds and that has a big impact on matchday attendances, Why don't these gobby Leeds fans compare their ticket prices and attendances to London clubs.

The fact that one of them hideously states that Leeds United have a top 5 or 6 fan base in the country 🤣 says absolutely everything about many of them, they would just make the top 10 so deluded and clueless.

The irony 😂 Spurs last champions of England closer to WW1 than 2025. Actually closer to Boer War 🤣
