Man City - 115 Charges

Never realised that mind, that article says they’re the first team to take legal action against the premier league. Says everything about their owners.

Nothing will happen.
We were made an example of being a small Club. Different rules will apply and money talks.
Tottenham were guilty of similar offences and got a fine. As if all Clubs abide by the rules and the sport is sufficiently governed.
You weren’t in the PL though. City are. The PLand FL have different rule books.
The PL have only got themselves to blame. They opened the door to state owned clubs. You reap what you sow.
Clubs are businesses. The PL couldnt stop a business being sold to a new owner unless they’re convicted criminals.

If we had been a big club we would have escaped with a fine.
It’s history now mate but one tough chapter that I will take to my grave.
The hurt has gone but remember it well.

I am coiled up like a spring. I live in hope every day now that something is about to happen. Quietly confident but being a Swindon fan you just can’t let that hope turn into celebrations because history tells you that another bite on the arse is only going to follow.

Once this Club rises again it’s going to be so much fun.
Just want to be around to go for it one more time and share it with my boys.🤞

I doubt they’d start dishing out titles to other clubs but I would like some sort of compensation for loss of earnings because we would have got into Europe for winning the league cup and who knows where that would have lead us or what type of players we could have signed.
But should the teams they've beaten in semi finals over the years also claim loss of earnings, missing out on a trip to Wembley, etc?
And then teams they've beaten in quarter finals who might have had a big day out semi final?
Teams that missed out on Europe because City finished above them in the league?

I think the can of worms is too big. City may be punished but I can't see any awards or rewards for anyone else.

I’ve said this for a long time now Swindon, they’ll punish the smaller teams like Swindon, readings,Portsmouths etc of this world and your Man City’s,Chelsea’s,skunks etc are all allowed to take the ****,like you say mate money talks and it’s that corrupt it’s just laughable and has been for a long time

It wasn't long ago QPR laughed at the EFL for threatening them when they were promoted, nout happened when they were relegated, if memory serves.
They were fined £42m, but not really £42m as the owners got to write off some of it and then I'm sure its spread over 10 years. Leicester will be interesting when they get back to EFL too.

Let me know when we win the League Cup & I am sure one of us will go up the road and change out Man C 2013 to Sunderland 2013 hope we get the net difference in prize money and interest….lol

Is that right? I stand corrected then.

Thought everything just got swept as the efl were initially suggesting they would be relegated from the championship, and the owner just stuck his fingers up at them.

Pretty sure they’ve mentioned it a few times on price of football podcast that the efl didn’t want to deduct points so gave them a pointless (I’ve added that part) fine instead.

No idea if the rules have changed since then though.

Leicester is the big one as they found the loophole that humiliated the EFL last time so they’ll be looking for any reason to get them this time.

just need to remember, it is far easier to change the rules than to enforce a ruling.

the authorities will try to back out of taking tough decisions as they did in scotland with the rangers debacle. it was only when clubs banded together that forced the sfa to act.

even look at lotg. offence to hold onto someone. now you are allowed to hold onto them for a period of time. so its now permitted for wrestling matches in the goal mouth.
time wasting ...
easier to ignore the problem or be like a referee and turn your back and run away so you do not have to deal with it. that is exactly what the authorities will try and do.

What's happened to their fans? Today was embarrassing. My mate is a season ticket holder at the Etihad, reckons they don't celebrate goals unless they are against other big 6 teams

Money has spoilt them, nearly as much as their petulant manager. A little failure may humble them enough to remind them how lucky they've been.

It is quite hilarious that the punishment for a club over spending and risking going into serious debt is a....massive fine to put them into massive debt.
