That’s fine if the very unlikely event they need to bat again, as can’t see Worcs scoring quickly enough to make them have to score anything but a very low score.

The right and positive approach imo is to give themselves as much time as possible to get 10 wickets from this position.

There is none really that good imo especially at International level, we are struggling and have been struggling in the spin department for a lot of years.

We have two not one hand tied behind our back when we tour India and Pakistan.

Maybe. I still think they're both better. Hartley took the most wickets by a long way in the India tour of 2024 for any bowler let alone out of the spinners.

The ODI and T20 series we just had with India we could really have done with bowling more good spin. Those pitches were ideal for it. Rashid was our most dangerous bowler in the ODIs by a long way and Livingstone certainly isnt good enough as a spinner. Rashid will be a massive miss when he is gone. Either they made a tactical error not playing Ahmed or they just dont think he's good enough but either way its a worry.
 
Absolutely brilliant knock mind, hope that gives him tremendous confidence going forward and forces himself into the England set up more regularly probably white ball to start off with.

In one way probably best he got out saves the captain having conflicting thoughts as should have declared before he got out to give them more time to win the game

Leach is miles better bowler than Bashir like. It’s not even close

I can see why they tried him but surely he can’t play jn Australia
 
Surrey were going well in response to a big score from Essex but have lost 5 wickets for 69 runs to 181 for 6. Looking good for Essex now.

Yeah but that wasn’t what I was saying, didn’t mention any particular individual as think all our spinners poor

My point was and is that we lacking very much in quality spinners in this country whoever we pick from the options available and have for a long time.

And while I agree Leach is better than Bashir, The Aussies won’t be worried in the slightest about Leach should he play

Probably not but his test record is ok
