We can't even guarantee him that though which will be a part, he's behind mundle for a start
Won't know the actual figures but have been told it's it's life-changing or ridiculous money compared to here, which is believable.
We haven't been hell bent on selling. There's only really Stweart and Clake who we've sold of an consequence so far.Just feel if others who excel are shipped out next 2 or 3 windows feeling toward the board will really change.
Fine balance I know but they dont seem hellbent on progression.
Was it this one by any chance?I know sites with estimated wages aren't always the most accurate, but every one I can see suggests they're paying Adingra about £12.5k a week. They bought him for circa £8m. Even in the PL clubs have to be careful about overpaying on wages, and they weren't in a transfer battle for him, seems like there was only them and us.
Can't imagine he's seen as an immediate first team option, they've signed purely for potential because the transfer fee is worth the risk for a PL side. Might have good rises built in if he gets x appearances, but doubt they'll have been throwing money at him unnecessarily. Might prove to be the right decision for him, or he might look back and think he could have earned more had he stayed. His decision, but a shame he couldn't stay with the club that developed him
Honestly would be amazed if he was on less than 10He will be on the top end of what they pay young talented players mate. Because of the fee, the contract will be future proofed (for both the club and him) but I’d be very surprised if he starts on more than £10k a week.
Its the only way. In this league without selling players we lose money and would fall foul of the rules if we don't sell players. We are in a better position than all but those with parachute payments but we cant not sell and try to improve weaker areas of the squad. We’re on our longest period outside the top flight in my lifetime, so yes it is bad. You say I need to give my head a shake, defies belief.
You say it’s not all about money (which I agree with) but to the owners that’s all that matters. Nice long post you’ve written but with no mention of getting promotion, never mind a tad success.
It was about three or four, did a search and clicked the first few that came up just to see if any had different figures. They might all be bollocks of course, but I seriously doubt Brighton would be going much over about £15k a week for a lad who, in all likelihood, they probably don't expect to feature next season. As I say, it could still be a good deal for the lad compared to what we were offering, especially if he has guaranteed pay rises based on appearances or whatever but there's little to no chance he's guaranteed 30k a week or anything. Why would they when they were only battling us for his signature and we'd be nowhere near it?Was it this one by any chance? You must be logged on to see external links

As an idea of how out they are likely to be that one totals their wage bill as 58m, their actual wage bill was 148m ( that is all club staff but that will be ticket office staff on 30k a year etc) but think it’s fair to guess it would be well over 100m for players. I doubt he will be on 30, you’re right. But it won’t be 10 or less.It was about three or four, did a search and clicked the first few that came up just to see if any had different figures. Just what I was told in Feb when the window closed, the money was unbelievable compared to what was initially on the table here,it was all agreed but we pulled the plug as we couldn't get the replacement in.Been told by someone who knows or is assuming the figures ?
I think you're right on all of that, although I'd expect any quoted wages to be basic. First team players in particular probably make a lot of their money from bonuses on top of this, which would vastly increase the actual bill. I'll admit, just from playing FM, I remember the option for sharing bonuses based on league position etc between a squad. I'm sure that's a thing in real life and skills presumably hit the wage bill on the accounts. As an idea of how out they are likely to be that one totals their wage bill as 58m, their actual wage bill was 148m ( that is all club staff but that will be ticket office staff on 30k a year etc) but think it’s fair to guess it would be well over 100m for players. Gutted to see him go, I think he has the potential to go right to the top. Hopefully we have a decent sell on percentage.
I'll try and pick out the positives of this, the club is in a position where we need to sell a player like this in the 10-15m bracket every season. We've just done next seasons early, so any pressure to sell Jobe or Rigg will be reduced.
It also means we can plan for next season, deals for Cirkin and Neil a priority, but we can also make concrete moves for targets too
Sorry, should have clarified, I think at least 1 will be off, if not both. But in terms of us being desperate to sell as I think we were with Clarke, we shouldn't beWe need to honest here mate and acknowledge that if we don’t get promoted, both of those lads will leave. The Watson sale won’t help that sadly.
I'm hoping we keep Rigg. He's obviously a great prospect, much better than Watson, but he isn't yet running games in this division. Teams would want him, but without contract pressures hopefully we can convince him to give it another season. Jobe could have left after last season but I'd hazard a guess that having this extra year, looking genuinely good at this level, will mean both we and he get considerably more when he goes. Jobe probably doesn't gain much from another year in this league so if we don't go up I suspect he'll be off. Rigg isn't there yet imo. Hopefully next season can be the season he really steps up, like Jobe did this, and then either we go up or he leaves for a fortune at the end of next seasonWe need to honest here mate and acknowledge that if we don’t get promoted, both of those lads will leave. But aye, won't be less than 10k. I suspect even we'd get near to that figure. We'll likely never know but I'd expect around 15k but with guaranteed raise if he gets in the side regularly etc. It'll be big money for him, but time will tell if it's as good as it gets. Might end up looking back thinking he could have made more over the course of his career if he'd stayed here. But I suppose we weren't going to guarantee him games either. Fuck it, he's gone, it's disappointing given we developed him and he's ultimately given us fuck all, don't really care if he fades into obscurity and if he doesn't at least we've got a sell on.
