Chris Rigg

I would sell him for that on the condition that the money was used to buy a few proven players that will help us and our young squad get promoted.

Wouldn't hold it against Riggy if he went for a life changing wage, although I think he needs to play constantly and for him, I hope this wouldn't be a move that 'cattletrucked' is career.

But would his head be in it if he stayed...
I mean it’s Tottenham, I don’t think it’d be too much on issue. Nice stadium but it’s practically in Mordor.

They’re only 9 places ahead of us as well and on a downward trend.

If someone like Liverpool, Arsenal or Forest came in for him you’d understand him wanting to go for European football.

Just have to see what happens if and when we get promoted, not worth worrying about, same as any silly rumours about players leaving for massive fees.
Much like we saw in the summer people can say we need, or a player is worth x amount of millions. When it comes down to it they are only worth what another team is willing to pay and what kld will accept.
Loads were convinced Clarke was worth 25/ 30m quid, we got 15m and looking at him this season he’s struggled massively in the higher league but maybe useful next season when Ipswich are back at a lower level

I'm not worried, I just think KLD will need help unless the plan is to sell at some point soon when the club looks an attractive proposition.

I think any offer for Rigg (or Jobe) will be a lump of say 20m upfront and than a number of add ons to that to make it look bloated. I just don't see them turning that down.

Give your head a shake man!

Spurs are only 9 places ahead of us are they? 😆😆😆😆

All I can think of when this happens outside of the window is Kone and Everton. He was a mess after he stayed here. At that point in time it made no difference as the money would have been squandered.
For the record I don’t think any of our current players are ready to make the step up. Clarke was streets ahead of what we currently have and he has trouble getting regular game time.

For £37 m can we reinvest some to fix the stadium WiFi.
As unlikely as this transfer is, have Spurs learnt nothing about buying young northern talent for big money (Clarke). While Rigg may continue to develop he’s not ready for the prem yet so he’s not going to get much game time.

Maybe a loan back to us in the deal

Not always how it works as we’ve seen with the Stewart and Clarke money.

I’d rather we just kept him, the money means nothing to us as supporters. He’ll be a PL quality midfielder in 1-2 years and we, as fans, are better off having him stay.
I very much doubt we saw anywhere near the whole of the stewart money as a lot of it would be add ons. Also, we invested heavily after each sale and still posted a huge loss after selling Stewart.
People aren't really believing £37m are they?
It'll all be add ons, but it's a starter to get the ball rolling for negotiations. At least the figures are realistic.

The source is Fichajes and it's notoriously full of absolute rubbish. Links players to everybody. Wouldn't believe a word of what they say.

Oh well, that's that then. I didn't click on the article as I am already well aware that Rigg to.... (newcastle usually) a well known as click bait that'll lead to a lot of bites.

Tbf £37m is stupid money! Presumably an option for a bit loan back too - I mean surely they’ll be looking for a top champ team to send him to. He’s not playing on day 1 right?

Depends how it’s invested like - sign another crop of 17 year olds from France it’s a problem. Sign some top championship players then we are ok
