Spurs 38 m bid for rigg

Not always how it works as we’ve seen with the Stewart and Clarke money.

I’d rather we just kept him, the money means nothing to us as supporters. He’ll be a PL quality midfielder in 1-2 years and we, as fans, are better off having him stay.
You could argue we haven't missed either of those players.

Mundle has scored 5 in 15, would put him at very similar levels as Clarke for the season.
Stewart hasn't kicked a ball since.

Those sales also would be tiny in comparison to 37m.

Obviously only if the money is reinvested into the team otherwise you're completely correct

He has to go this summer or sign a new deal really.

If we do go up though they might risk running it down to one year so that he proves himself in premier therefore raising price

Theres an argument that its actually a good time to sell.

There is alot of hype around him when no one knows at present if he is ready for premier league now or in 3 years and what his ceiling will be.

Also he is clearly not ready for a 46 game championship season. Looking at Jobe who has still dipped this season after dipping last season, it might be 2 or 3 years yet before Rigg is physically ready for a full season.

So in the greater good, selling Rigg now who isn't fully ready for the championship endurance and buying a 24 -27 year old might be a better chance of promotion.

Really couldn't care less as long as we get a cracking deal. We need to build a side to get us out of this division, Leeds lost 3 of their star players last summer and have gone from strength to strength.

Going off his second half season form I’d be snapping Spurs’ hands off. Imagine if we didn’t get promoted but that money got us Le Fee on the perm.

I’d take that kind of money too as it would arm us for a good go at getting up if spent well.

I’ve seen it said often and I hope I’m wrong, but Le Fee hasn’t looked a world beater to me at all. I know he’s been played out of position supposedly, I’d never heard of him before we got him, but apart from one or two nice touches I’m yet to see what all the fuss is about.
Must be me but he’s not looked a cut above like I hoped he would.

As I say hope I’m completely wrong and he scores the winner at Wembley

I do think the squad itself would have been stronger with Clarke. He'd probably have been starting ahead of Mundle, due to his goals and assists at this level. Mundle has been out a while too so we missed having a left winger of that calibre for a long spell. Obviously, Stewart is/was a write off.

If Spurs' offer for Rigg is anywhere close to that reported, I reckon the club will already be planning on what to do with the cash.

Pretty sure we won't get anything over £20mil for him. Although if I was his advisor, another season here seems an obvious fit. Bellingham's improvement has been immense and another 40 games for Rigg next season will do him wonders

If you can’t see le fee is a completely different level to anybody else in our squad then that’s on you. He’s 2/3 passes ahead of everyone else.

He may have been lucky with Meyenda & Triantis but you could argue that with our limited funds we shouldn’t be bringing in any player that we have to loan out pretty much strait away.
But that's partly the point, we couldn't afford to pay what it would cost to get a Mayenda once he's proven. So we have to get them in before they're proven and develop them, or bring them in when their value is knocked down, like a Pritchard, Roberts, Clarke.
